I don't think many of you know how the stadium is configured. It's pretty simple to think about...
10k upstairs
Quarter the lower bowl into groups of 10K

So up top is 1/2 full that's down 5K. If there were 7K students thanks down 3K. If the other parts of the lower bowl were 3/4 full that's another 9K.

Seems to me the minimum amount of people in their seats was 31K

the bottom line is we dont have a large fanbase and really on casual fans who will only come when we win or its a big name school. We will rely on Iowa, Michigan and PSU fans to bring 7-12K to help push the games close to sellouts

i wonder what dynamic pricing looks like for these games lately especially games vs Illinois and Indiana, I cant imagine the school selling these tix for over face value

Surprised. With the $45 parking and $6 bottles of water I figured there would be more of a walk up crowd considering the nice weather.
C'mon man that $45 parking is 200 feet from the front entrance of a B1G football stadium and you don't need a reservation. That parking in Michigan would be $200 or more.

Anyone complaining about attendance in these threads should be required to include whether or not they attended the game.

As @vkj91 says, this is pretty normal for around the country. I think a lot of Rutgers fans watch Rutgers, and then watch the marquee games on Saturday night. If you watch misc conference games or other mid level games, its pretty much the same everywhere.

Hey Cabbage, are you getting all the games on TV this year?

bottled water at Michigan is probably $40 then ... but that is big time football ! bring a fat wallet !

I thought the official figure was very close to being on target yesterday. The noon starts hurt in terms of getting fans in the stadium on time, or in the stadium at all. But the painfully loud PA system alleviates the need to be in the stadium on time since you can probably hear it throughout Somerset and Middlesex counties, and possibly into Union County as well, LOL. It was very painful during our sorry pregame yesterday.

Watchu mean?

I go to all of our home games. I am just saying that I watch a lot of random Big Ten and other games when I can, and many .500ish teams have stadiums that look exactly like ours attendance wise.

I don't like all the posters that act like its some kind of unacceptable embarrassment, when it isn't. Especially when many of the people complaining don't even go to the games.

They were in the stadium, close to 10K strong, like the sign said. Unfortunately, about half were gone by the 3Q and 90% were gone by late in the 4Q, despite the game still being in the balance. I just don't get leaving before we put it away.

By all accounts, this is simply not true.

Try quoting the whole post, not selectively posting the part that makes you look more correct. I guarantee you there were close to 10K there in the first half, as the student section was 80% full and we all know students crowd together further down, so it might have been 10K - but it was at least 8K, which is a good showing. They did a horrible job in the 2nd half as I said above...

Nevermind I confused you with the guy who lives in New Zealand.
