Todays box score tells the story.

Ace needs to develop better feel for the game and not force shots. Shot 6-16 and 4 TOs but gave max effort. Has to adjust to BIG style of play and the way they officiate.

Dylan much better at letting the game come to him.

Pike has to figure out how to coach this group so they can learn how to finish games.

Seeing multiple players standing around for a rebound watching one guy on OSU grab it and put it back in. Dismal
This is the play where I lost it. This team is either unwilling to fight or lacks hustle. They expect things to come to them instead of going out and taking it. It's a very soft team that doesn't work hard. Defense is effort, we give none.

So many players just not contributing in any way.
Assists? Rebounds? What an indictment… of whom yet, is the question. Staff? The individuals? All of them?
It takes a village as they say….blame it on all

Effort? He's one of the ones who stood there and watched as the lone OSU guy got the rebound and put back against 3 Rutgers guys. This play is still seared into my brain.
Was just adding him to the list of busts. It’s just not a high major roster. They didn’t play well against Alabama either but Harper’s unreal game masked that.

I said that all the "offense is fine!" posts after ND/Alabama we're misguided.
We're good if Ace/Dylan are providing 60pts.
When they provide 30, that's a problem.

No one expects the rest of your team to only contribute 30. Getting 2 from Jeremiah , 2 from Jordan for 36 minutes , 0 from PJ, 0 from JMike , 3 from Zack in first 3 minutes and 0 thereafter , 0 from Dylan Grant . The total lack of agression on both backboards , defensively in man to man and rotations , getting any loose bal , allowing second chance points , was shocking to say the least. They literally cannot play a less instinctive game in their lives. Rare we will get 30 point totals a game from Dylan and ACE but if it happens cannot get the no shows on both ends from the 6 guys I mentioned.
Did they not realize this was a big and important game. ? Have to wonder if Pike had that message and if he did , how it fell on deaf ears.

The guy who plays the same position for OSU as Ace went off all game when he wasnt in foul trouble. I am not exempting Ace from the rest.

Dylan had Thornton and guarded Sears down the stretch. Maybe the other lottery pick should be able to stop an opposing wing.

He wasn’t guarding him , correct ? Should he have been , maybe yes.

I dont think Ace is equipped to guard a lot of players
I notice a slight improvement there as well as a concerted attempt to do better guarding players. Not their first couple of games but definitely more so every game. He just seems petrified of getting in foul trouble because he knows he will have to come out and sit. Hard to play aggressive and smart that way.

agreed. worth noting he didn't do a bad job (from my memory)guarding Nelson of Alabama
