One of the worst mistakes RU football made was allowing a talent like that to walk.
Savage admitted himself he was immature and should not have left.

He was room mates with one of my best years freshmen year. Had a nice temper. Thought he was going to kick one of my drunken friends asses one night. 6' 6" versus 5'7".
The worst mistake they made was not putting a decent OL in front of him.
Keep things in perspective: Rutgers has had some of the great offensive football minds here this century: Schiano, Flood, and Ash.
It was a bit more complicated than that but a porous OL can make any NFL bound QB look bad...same thing happened to Ray Lucas a game or two...
