Top Public Schools National Universities

I think in my mind that ranking seems fair...there's a lot more Rutgers can do if it had alumni support...I just can't understand why folks don't even support their own departments...whether it be through donations or giving time

I can't open the list. Just for the heck of it can anyone tell me where Cuse and UCONN are listed

Of course the USNWR rankings are highly subjective and don't square in any way with our world rankings of 40 - 60 internationally depending on the ranking source.

USNWR is relied on way too much by parents and students who don't understand how flawed and easily manipulated the ratings are.

Big Ten Schools that made the list:

#4 Michigan
#10 Illinois
#10 Wisconsin
#14 Penn State
#16 Ohio State
#20 Purdue
#20 Maryland
#25 Rutgers
Know nothing about the Illini.

Is this an accurate/correct # for them?

It's always interesting seeing that other fanbases are way too tough on their school, too. Rutgers' academics are fine. Better than fine, actually. Your athletic department needs some work, but I don't think anyone in the Big Ten ever questioned the legitimacy of Rutgers University having a seat at the CIC/B1GAA table.

The much bigger story, to me at least, is the six schools that didn't make the list. I figured there would be at least 1 or 2 more. While there's certainly no shame in having 8 of your 14 members being top-25 publics, I just always figured the B1G had a higher percentage.

Folks don't supports Rutgers for two reasons:

1. Economic environment of the students household

2. Cultural environment of students household

Rutgers student body is in large part comprised by a student body who grows up in a household where giving back is not taught, either due to resources available, or cultural norms.

Folks don't supports Rutgers for two reasons:

I highly doubt this is anywhere close to the top reason why folks don't donate...but since I have nothing to go by, your guess is as good as mine

It's just really mind boggling, half a million alumni out there and we have an endowment that just reached a billion two or three yrs ago
