Twitter and Rutgers Today

My son rec'd an IM telling him the Grant Catch/Run/Injury was #1 trending world wide this afternoon. True?
No, that's not right. It's possible the Grant play was trending in New Jersey (some people's Twitter feeds default to their home state), but certainly not worldwide. I checked Twitter multiple times during the game and never saw anything trending about our game. There were, unfortunately, several jokes by Iowa fans and reporters about the game's lousy attendance.

Were you in your old spot in Purple? Was further back and thought about stopping by and introduce myself but decided to head into the stadium early

We actually were at a tailgate in Blue today. Should be in purple for Michigan and Illinois.

I don't know but I doubt it. Twitter actually tailors trends to be related to one's location and interest. If you follow Rutgers football accounts, anything remotely trending involving Rutgers is going to be in your top

Who cares about the opinions of fans who start cheering when the other team's player is hurt on the field?

I don't know, they might have been cheering that his great run got stopped before he scored. Pretty sure nobody was cheering the injury. Personally, I hope to God it's not as bad as it looked and he's able to be back playing soon. In retrospect, I have to admit most of us recognize that if he hadn't gone out of the game at that point, Iowa likely would not have been able to win it.

Different injury. When Lambert was down in the fourth quarter (eventually taken off on the cart), an Iowa fan in 102 started a "let's go Hawkeyes" chant that picked up steam through 102 and 103. This was while our guy was down and it appeared pretty serious.

Ah OK. I was watching TV in Iowa and missed that. Not the injury, I remember that, but was unaware of the response.

I'm talking about the end of the game when Lambert was getting carted off and they started an Iowa chant while he was laying on the field
