Not sure if this kid was in our plans anyway, but good job by UConn nonetheless.

Good get for them. Whenever a second tier G5 beats a P5 for a kid, it's a good get.

Who cares?
You've already summed up their profile in the football. Ucheat is 2nd tier...and in perfect world TTFP(Paterno), Cuse (Boheim), Ucheat (Calhoun) ...share a few things in common. They all turned a blind eye (or worse)...they all won, they all won NC's....and the sanctions against their schools did nothing to stop them or punish them.

Only Ucheat is left out in the cold. Good enough for starters.

Although they didn't offer, he was (supposedly) on the radar of Stanford, Miami, Wisconsin, Rutgers and a bunch of other schools. Odds are at least one of those schools offers him late to fill out their class. No offense to UConn or their fans, but If that happens and he doesn't flip to another school before signing his LOI, I'd be shocked. Unless UConn is handing out jobs now too. Or unless he is just really, really psyched about playing in the completely fabricated UConn/UCF Trophy Rivalry game.

I'm surprised he would pick UConn over Duke. His teammate Liam Smith is headed to Duke.

So UConn was recruiting him as a DB? UNC was looking at him as a QB.

I saw this guy play any number of times. He didn't look like he could be a qb at the next level. Maybe a safety.
Definitely liked him as a high school qb though.

Honestly, a real shame this had to happen. UConn invested a ton of money in their program. Good for us, but an embarrassing waste of resources.

Should have just taken back VTech/Miami and added PSU:

Rutgers
PSU
Pitt

WVU
VTech

UConn
Cuse

USF
Miami

Great football, traditional rivalries, great basketball (bring back the Catholic schools as basketball only, including Notre Dame), decent travel distances.

Not that I'm complaining....

Rivals and 247 are not showing a Duke offer for Hahn. They are showing an offer from NC State as the only P5 school to offer him.

Unless it's Boise or you need to stay close for family reasons does not make sense not to take the P5 offer if you have one. I agree with those saying if he gets a local p5 offer he will drop them.

I have no idea what this kid will or will not do if he gets a local P5 offer. But I would certainly not presume to suggest what would be his "sensible" course of action. Is it a given that the more prestigious offer is the one that best meets the young man's needs and wants? Should he decommit just because he got a "better" offer? We have been fighting that perception for decades.

Lets let UConn enjoy this recruiting victory....who are we to detract from UConn's and Eddie Hahn's day in the sun? Lets be grateful for what we have instead of acting like jealous Cuse fans!!! Good luck Eddie.

This is a dumb conversation. None of you know what this kid wants out of college. None of you know what happened when he made visit or attended camps. Maybe he made a strong connection with one of UConn's coaches. Maybe he tried to commit to NC State and was told no or that he had to wait.

Just because you think one is "better" than the other doesn't mean it was better for him.
