As long as you are not basing the comment on the UConn game, I would at least hear some reasoning. Not judging any team by the game they play against Geno.
In general, Dawn has done quite well, but there is still a little room for improvement. However, off hand, I would not have made that criticism of her.

As for tone it down: try to get over being rep remanded and move on to RU WBB issues.

All I have ever wanted to do was comment on RU basketball. I have never attacked the messenger except in self defense.
To each their own and I disagree about sarcasm never being appropriate.
When I see someone imply something without saying it, sometimes they get a sarcastic reply from me.
Will agree insulting another poster isn't the right thing to do , for any reason.
But enough about us,> my opinion : Dawn is a good coach, but Geno is on a whole different level and the one everyone compares coaches like Staley to.
Dawn looks like she might be leading SC to another 30 win season.

I totally agree w your assessments of the 2 coaches. Geno may be the best coach ever including all sports. I know that is a hard thing to compare, but no other coach has accomplished what he has relative to his sport. And he ain't retiring soon. (I think)
Take Geno out of the discussion, he's the creme de la creme. Case closed.

IMO, Muffett is clearly #2. A few years ago, I would have put Vanderveer next, but now I'd slot in Staley.

Vanderveer is over rated. Their last championship came when she wasn't coaching the team. You said to take Geno out of the discussion. We were obviously not taking about him coming to RU. Just commenting on his place as an all time coach. Why even bothering mentioning Muffett. There is no way she will leave ND for any other job. I still think Gail Gos. is a possibility. Wash out at Texas...yes. But I think she is more comfortable on the east coast. Totally speculation on my part. She could just as well be a big bust at RU. This is the time for Hobbs to show why he is paid the big bucks. Very happy w Steve P hire.
As Turtle says, the question had nothing to do with RU - and yes, I spend way too much time on the UConn board specifically reading threads that have absolutely little to do with UConn and are just for fans of the sport.
As to Turtle's question - Tara isn't particularly over-rated, I think most would put her in the top 5. Muffet is also top 5. Of coaches that have been around a while, Dawn, Brenda (whom I don't care for much), Kim Mulkey, maybe Gary Blair (only P5 coach Vivian's age, I believe) or Sherri Coale are coaches that have consistently put good product on the floor. It is difficult to compare them with someone like Sue Semarau whose success has been relatively shorter term or someone who is yet young who may turn out to be as good. Or someone like Wes Moore whose success was at a mid-major level and has transitioned to P5. None - obviously - are Geno.
Tara over rated. Again, not part of the NCAA championship team. Basically a west coast version of CVS, in way of great recruiting and mediocre use of the talent

I am only answering you because you are selling misinformation.
First, the year Tara wasn't coaching the team, they did not win a championship.
Second, in the time period that CVS has been at Rutgers, Tara has been to 7 final fours (most recent, 2014) including 2 runner ups.
Third, recruiting is very different at Stanford - where you can't offer the scholly until they are admitted. Her best teams have been - as have CVS's - when she had the top recruits.
Hasn't missed the NCAA's since 1988 and has only failed to make the Sweet 16 in 6 of 29 appearances.
And finally, since 2001 has had one season of 10 losses. One, in a Sweet 16 season.
