Ya think? Lol. Honestly wish it would've been Iowa vs. ND and Ohio St. vs. Stanford. Games would've been much, much more interesting.
Ugh.. oh man, this is rough to watch. We could have been in this game and at least played as bad as Iowa
Oh really, how bad was Stanford supposed to look against a grinder like Iowa.
Fluke loss to Northwestern in opener and 2 point loss in high scoring shoot out against Oregon. Stanford missed tying 2 pt conversion at end of game and Hogan fumbled 2 snaps from center that cost them dearly. McCaffrey should have won the Heisman.
Agree 100%. They had as easy a schedule as you can have while still being a member of the Big Ten. Not only did they played in the West but their 2 cross-over games where against Maryland and Indiana.
If they played the same schedule Rutgers did, they would have probably been closer to 8-5 instead of 12-1. Or, at best, 9-4. Which still means they are a very good team. Just not good enough to be playing in the Rose Bowl against a team of the caliber of Stanford.
I realize the East/West split in the Big Ten makes sense on the surface. But this is the result. A team like Ohio State plays in a 2nd tier bowl and destroys Notre Dame. Meanwhile a team like Iowa gets to play in the Rose Bowl.
Iowa is a not quite top 25 caliber team that somehow found itself in the rose bowl. The result is a blow out.
Almost as *** as F A M I L Y.Knew they were in trouble when they came out holding hands. What's the purpose? Keeping safe from traffic? Ohio St doesn't come out holding hands like 4th graders

For those who say RU most resembles Iowa, well today is more likely the reverse.
Wonder if a re-alignment debate begins. This is just ugly. Iowa is maybe the fifth best team in the B1G, yet there they are at the Rose Bowl.
The Hawkeyes got to the Rose Bowl and that , easy schedule or not, is something the Iowa fans can be proud of.
I'll not knock any school that makes it to a major bowl game after seeing their undefeated season hopes ruined the game before that bowl.
There have been schools that lost their conference championship or a chance to play in it the game before they played in a major bowl and played like chumps in that bowl.
Sometimes for the players the disappointment that comes after a big loss like that is hard to overcome and the fire is gone.
Even the best of coaches might not be able to start the fire burning again.
I'll just give those players and coaches credit for having a great season and not try to act like they didn't deserve to go to the Rose Bowl.
