Does Stanford have a checklist of all the different ways to score that they're running down? Yeesh. Iowa may take some of the stink off MSU with this one.
was in the car listening to the game on the radio and one of the announcers called the B1G west soft, obviously this is a bad match up for them but Iowa and others in the west are not soft, maybe less talented, but soft?
Schiano used to say that if you wanted to be the best football coach you can be, go to the NFL because in cfb you had to do recruiting at same time as your college games. There are some coaches/teams that get noticeably better for bowl games. Iowa apparently isn't one of them and Stanford seems to be.
May have to consider that game as one we can steal.
Iowa looking terrible, but they aren't as bad as they look today. And this one game doesn't mean the big 10 west sucks. One of Stanford's two losses this year was to a big 10 west team. The Big 10 West isn't as good as the East but it's not terrible and Iowa is better than they look today - they're just laying an egg in this game.
Have to admit I was thinking something similar when I watched the two teams come out,
It looks like Stanford is a legitimate number 4, 5 or 6 team. They're just a bit better than Iowa in every position. The playoff games yesterday were uneventful, the ND/OSU was good. This game is boring and to no fault of Stanford. Did anyone see the Tennessee/Northwestern game? Talk about a thrashing. I have a feeling Tennessee is going to have a good season next year.

Stanford is still a two-loss team. No team with two losses can complain much about being left out of the playoffs.
Perhaps McCaffrey deserved more Heisman votes. What an all-around great football player!
Iowa had a dream season with a terrible ending. They were a mid-pack B1G team last season. Who knows, if they come back to Earth next season we could take them at home in September.

Iowa showed no sense of urgency in this game. Their offense was methodical and running down the play clock for 95% of the game and now with less than 3 mins left in the game down by 29 pts against Stanford 3rd teamers they're going hurry up. Iowa coaches and players did not come ready to play today.
