Univ Buffalo mens and womens teams both ranked

Stop comparing us to SUNY Buffalo. We’re getting a third of what other B1G programs are getting. When we get the full share maybe we can compete with the likes of Buffalo. We’re talking about a program with decades of athletic success, an unlimited budget and tremendous facilities. How can we compete with that??

Buffalo’s recent choices for Athletic Directors have been stellar. Their current AD Mark Alnutt, succeeded AD Allen Greene who left for the AD job at Auburn. Greene succeeded AD Danny White who departed for the AD job at UCF. Danny White’s father is the AD at Duke, one brother is the men’s hoops coach at Florida and another brother is the AD at Florida Atlantic. Danny also has a sister who is the Assistant AD at SMU.
Buffalo’s athletics have made great strides because they have hired great ADs — people with credentials and real NCAA connections.
At Rutgers, we hire folks with provincial “state/political” connections. You need folks with real backgrounds at successful programs and real NCAA backgrounds.
It will be a month of Sunday’s before our AD is hired away by distant programs like Auburn in the SEC and an up-and-coming program/school like UCF.
Having said that, I wonder if the President of Buffalo (UB) is available to eventually succeed Barchi?

I just don’t get why Rutgers is so averse to candidates with experience. It’s great to come in with a vision and grand master plan, but what’s wrong with someone who’s actually executed? In my time here, there’s not been a single AD with prior experience as an AD. Closest we got was Jack Palance who was associate AD. Other than that: golf coach, NJSEA prez, TV programming guy, law school administrator who moonlighted as an AD for less than a year.

What’s the issue??! Just want to break he mold and be original??

Exactly, we need more B1G money so we can pay better players to come here

Well get rid of Stringer and MAYBE we can be ranked in women's hoops again lol!
Any suggestions for her successor? “Get rid of” is strong stuff, considering Rutgers hasn’t had too many Hall of Fame and national award winning folks associated with its programs. But when she retires or steps down, msybe FGCU’s Karl Smesko? One-time Maryland assistant, Ohio native.

Stringer’s resume is very un-Rutgers like. We should be proud that she ever gave Rutgers consideration.

Stringer was given a 4 year extension in November 2017, and is contracted through June 2021. So she's here for this year and two more by contract, and if they aren't getting rid of Ash, then she should be here through the contract.

Maybe hire a coach in waiting or something next year or the year after though.

While I ended up with a Cornell BA, I had an illness in the family & spent a year ar Univ of Buffalo. Back then (1970s) they had no football team, and bad basketball teams (oddly enough they did have a ranked hockey team). Sports were an afterthought.

They have come a long way...

Well aware of her history, she was a phenomenal coach in her day, but her day has a long, long past her my friend.

Because those people co$t more silly!!!!!
Hahaha. Only in the Rutgers mindset...which is skimp on the front end, create a disaster, then pay a ton on the backend in severence to get rid of them!
