University of Miami

If the Miami boosters spent as much on an on campus stadium as they have on players then they would have a 150,000 seat stadium with every amenity know to man including a Death Star.

Give Miami a break, it's much harder to create a consensus when you have a cosmopolitan area like Miami. . . Unlike, the Cornhuskers. . . there's not much in Husker land, so it's very easy to get everyone on board.

and let's not forget, Osborne selling his soul for the National Championships. . . you can say whatever you want about the Hurricanes, but Christian Peter, Lawrence of Lincoln, etc. . . were awful people.

Do the Cornhuskers still actively recruit Gang members aka Crypts and Bloods.

I never heard of any Crypts or Bloods on the Miami Hurricanes, but the Cornhuskers were loaded with Gang members.

Idk, I think Richt is a helluva coach. Not winning nattys at Georgia cost him his job, but a damn good recruiter and coach. And I HATE Miami!!

I went to law school there, don't know where you can fit a stadium on that campus. It is relatively small campus. There are some open spaces, but they are used for intramurals.

His problem is that he does less with more over any other coach in CFB. From all accounts though, he is a very honest, great guy. I don't believe these were kids being processed. Based on what U fans on tMB are saying, these cuts will hurt.

I wonder if there is any silver bullet location where MLS's Miami expansion team would want to partner with UM on a stadium. It would have to be low capacity but that could be what makes it special.

One of the most successful teams during the 1980's & 1990's. I can't speak for you guys but that loss to OSU was robbery, at least in my book. I know they were obnoxious and arrogant, but always exciting. I've read several articles on the fall of Miami, my friends believe Donna Shalala (sp) killed the program, others say they lost their recruiting edge. Thoughts?

Miami ever builds a stadium on campus, they will dominate the ACC.

Thats too funny. Some will remember when miami ruled cfb and the BE begged them to stay and offered BCS guaranteed money whether they made the game or not.

Now there are steps needed to dominate a non top tier conference. Makes me recall my post that miami would be a regional fball school if they turned that down. All seems complete now.

He may have done less with more, but Georgia only had two 10 win seasons in the 17 seasons between Herschel Walker leaving and Mark Richt getting there. He won 10 or more games in 9 of his 15 seasons, and had 9 regular season wins last season. We'll see if Kirby Smart can do that well.

I have met Richt a couple of times. He is a welcoming, genuine guy who would rather do things the right way than not at all. You would send your kids to play for him. I predict he will compete with schools like Stanford and ND for national recruits and be very successful.

Kirby smart will be much more successful at Georgia.

not talking body of work. Talking now

In the next few years Georgia will be a team to be reckoned with in the sec.

At least the two players dismissed from the football team can now devote their energies to becoming rhodes scholars.

I don't believe an on campus stadium would help The U. Miami is a very small school with an undergraduate enrollment that is under 11k. Thus, they also have a small alumni base with about half of those not living in Florida.

When The U had great teams, the stadium was filled with mostly fans with no connected to the University. So where the stadium is located won't make much of a difference. Sure an on-campus would attract more students but there aren't many of them to justify the expense.

Dude the Miami Hurricanes when they are good are more popular than the Dolphins in that city. The Fish haven't been relevant since the 1980's. The Canes could play in the Everglades and it wouldn't matter. What matters is that they play well and with that old Miami swagger. They do that and they are competing with FSU and Clemson again. Man, the ACC sure does suck lol.
