There's already a thread on it on the Rutgers Issues Board (link) but it always winds up as a topic here too for a day.

We moved up 1 spot to #69 but stayed in a four way tie for #25 public university. I would have thought the medical school merger would have given us more of a bump over the last couple years but it doesn't appear to have had much of an impact. Nor did all of the recent construction or the Honors College.

And we can all know these rankings don't matter, they're a money grab, there are easy ways to manipulate the numbers (see Northeastern) etc. However since US&WR is the most widely cited (while acknowledging that doesn't necessarily make them the "best") let's talk about it for a day.

Overall Rankings

Top Public Schools

This ranking is primarily for the undergraduate programs.

The Medical School addition with increased research money will be more related to US News other publication which ranks Americas Best Graduate Programs.

HAIL TO PITT!!!!

RBHS was a huge boast to Graduate ranking and research.

This list puts a greater focus on undergrad, if it didn't most Ivy league schools wouldn't be in the top 25, at least the ones without medical schools.
