Today's game and the Elite 8 game last year vs UConn and Illinois losing in the Round of 32 to Loyola Chicago are consistent reminders that coaching matters. I like Brad Underwood as a person and he tends to not find ways to adjust in games.
Considering how much Illinois invests in NIL and recruiting, today's game is a reminder why the B1G doesn't get respected enough on a National level. If you can lose this game after beating Penn State the other night by almost 40 points, there's no way any sane Illinois fan can trust Underwood in a tournament.
two really good teams. And to think Rutgers could’ve beaten Alabama and should’ve beaten A&M.I know this is a USC / Illinois thread but incredible game tonight between Alabama and Texas A&M with Alabama pulling it out. Now A&M has been without Wade Taylor tonight and their last game as well where they came from 18 points down on the road to beat Oklahoma.
The SEC is so loaded that 3 game losing streaks are going to happen to good teams. The Big 10 is a notch or two below but 3 game losing streaks will happen to good teams as well.
Forgot to mention , 55 ridiculous fouls were called in the game and Texas A& M shot 28-48 missing 20 and Alabama was 27-40 missing 13 from the foul line . Both teams missed and also took a ton of foul shots (88) . That is 3-4 games worth for a lot of teams . A&M extra 7 misses cost them the game as they lost by 6.two really good teams. And to think Rutgers could’ve beaten Alabama and should’ve beaten A&M.
Those two games have been the highlight of the season so far.The problem even in those games was the failure to sustain high level performance at both ends of the court in the last four minutes .two really good teams. And to think Rutgers could’ve beaten Alabama and should’ve beaten A&M.
