Using a different approach in my brackets this year

This year I decided to lean heavily picking teams with a perceived chip on their shoulders. teams that can use one thing or another as motivation. My Final Four is Gonzaga, Virginia, Michigan State, and Houston. With Gonzaga beating Houston in the championship game. Gonzaga and Houston have similar motivation. Both have been highly ranked non power 5 teams who had great seasons but lost in their conference tournament. Virginia I'm sure has not forgotten what happened last year. And Michigan State feels disrespected by being the number 2 seed that was put in the overall number 1 seed's region. A little extra fire in the bellies of these four.

interesting approach but of course very risky....as either could go out early. Last year proved that all doesnt go to form and history shows usually its not 4 1 seeds in the final 4.

Duke is the overwhelming fave and will be the far majority pick in all money bracket pools......so then it becomes a case of having to get everything else pretty good in the bracket...which I guess would advocate for playing things fairly safe and not picking alot of upsets....I see it differently. I will pick Duke to reach the finals just like everyone else but I am going to try to work on getting the other side of the bracket right so when I get to the finals, I have something to root for. Duke vs whoever...and my team does not necessarily have to make the finals, its a case of anyone BUT Duke to win the championship. I am big fan of having a skin in the game in the final 4 and have something to root for. Not going to blow it on Virginia this year either after picking them to win it all last year and having them embarrass themselves with a loss to UMBC

whats great is its such a crapshoot, how many times does a woman who barely follows college hoops ends up winning the pool because she only knows names and does not have a bias like the rest of us

Virginia is one of those teams that can make the final four , but can get knocked out early. Just because of their style of play, it can work but if they run into a couple of hot guards they are toast. They got their ass kicked by a 16 seed last year.

Mine will be the tallest impact teams prevailing. I.e. Thiam wouldn’t have counted. The most players who are tall but score a lot. I think height is so underrated in this tiring tournament when your guys can only jump around for RBs on tires legs so long
