it was 1998 and it was the greatest moment in the past 26 years. We beat a good wvu team and then Georgetown on billet's buzzer beater.
We hadn't won a BIG east tournament game before that season. Then we got to the semis with a first year Rutgers coach. We have a first year Rutgers coach again, in a different league. We haven't won a big tourney game yet . The draw sets up nicely for a couple wins. It could happen .

I reaalllyyy want to get excited but my heart has already taken a beating with this team this year lol. I'm going to come in with low expectations and hope for a win Wednesday. One step at a time for me

Tournament expanded to 14 teams two years ago, and in both years, a team playing on Wednesday has advanced to play in quarters on Friday... lets keep this going!

We ran into Artest and a very good St. John's team in the semi's, correct? But yes, great run.

Think about how much a Hodgeson clone would have meant for this year's team. Could have swung 3 or 4 of the close conference losses.

we ran into a very good UConn in the semis but it was our only season ever in the Big East that we were on the big stage in the semis

okay not to be a wet blanket....BUT this team has only won 3 conference games, never won back to back games in its Big 10 history, has only won 6 Big 10 games in about 56 tries. Winning one game is possible now we are dreaming on winning 3....good luck. Lets just win one and be happy.

Yes , that was a very good uconn team. They won the national title the next year with the same cast of characters.
We actually kinda hung around in that semifinal game in the 6-10 point range, but uconn was just too good and pulled away.

Well, I will say this, we could have done worse with our draw. tOSU and then NW are definitely "winnable" games (in the sense that they're not automatic blowouts, and we played both teams very close during the regular season, and on the road no less).

Actually dreaming of winning 5 and getting the automatic bid. We probably won't get an at-large bid this year!

If we win 3, we probably get Wisconsin, and we already took them to overtime. So we could win 4.

I am cautiously optimistic. RU has a favorable draw in this tourney to get a win or two. Let's see if Pike can do a little magic here with his players. And please, please, please...make free throws!!

That team had players who could shoot.

I remember going into NYC for that game with my girlfriend (now, my wife), best friend and his wife. It was a fun night. Hoping for some magic this year.

1989 redux - Rutgers vs. Penn State in the B1G Final. We win 70-66. One can hallucinate.
