We were so snake bitten with the last staff -- in their last year there were around 80 total player/games lost to injury -- they were down to seven healthy scholarship players at one point.
I think that MW's missed game last night might have been the second total missed game in the last year and a half.

I am hoping that this staff can engineer a way to mitigate the impact. Not having MW's energy off the bench certainly made a difference last night -- not outcome changing difference, but certainly some difference. I don't think we would ever have seen #44 on the floor with Baker and Sanders if not for the injury and they never had a chance to prepare with that lineup in practice. Wednesday will tell us a lot about what we can expect over the coming weeks.

You kind of knew we were due

I do give Pikiell and co some credit for lack of injuries. I don’t think it is a coincidence our rate of injuries has declined

I could be wrong here. Especially given sample size

I dunno about charmed. it's hard to say anything Rutgers is charmed ;)

joking aside, didn't Shaq Doorson miss major time due to injury last year? curious how that factors into the stats. Also, didn't Sanders miss a few games after an injury last year?

This is also due to better strength and conditioning program!!! Which I believe was probably non existent under the previous regime

Ultimately this will contribute to building a stronger team. Since there is no magic wand to wave & magically make MW available - it becomes imperative that RU immediately grapple with what the picture looks like when the page inevitably turns - & find the new ways to win.

Sanders did not miss any games with injury, played in all 33. Doorson played In 31 and sat two out per the coach’s decision. We were remarkably healthy for a year and a half. I hope that the poster who speculated that the reason for this is good conditioning under the new staff is right. If so, that bodes well for the future.
