Won't give away the chart posted on the RT- it was good / depressing.

But given the circumstances of remaining talent / possibility of transfers Rutgers should become the first U that has a ceremony of SCARLET SACRIFICE (Burning a Red Shirt, Scarlet)...and get ready to play as a FROSH!

If you want to play / you're ready to make a difference...come to the Banks: where we never close!

2 - 10 teams don't create "buzz".

The possible transfers aren't a state secret (this continued notion that there's information on the RT that nobody else knows is always good for a laugh). The fact is, there are maybe half a dozen guys on the current roster who would be on the "pretty much need to keep" list, and none of those guys are leaving.

Ash needs to keep most of the incoming class together. We need to keep Lewis, we need to keep both the kids from SJV, Watts, Melton, Fogg and a few of the others. Lewis will be in the QB mix from Day 1 and Watts, Melton and Fogg will play as freshmen. We need to put together a 4-5 win season next year with no embarrassing blowouts and build on that with the '18 recruiting class.

There are no gimmicks that will pull us out of this hole. The only thing that will work is solid recruiting and solid coaching.

We should sign one of the dogs from halftime of the Niagara mbb game to play receiver.

What is going to screw Ash over is the vast amount of times his coached teams looked completely useless out there.

I know it sounds "sad" but people would much rather see a 2-10 team where they didn't get their ass kicked every week, and looked to have a pulse and a decent chance of winning.

If Ash was able to keep things RESPECTABLE against UM/OSU/MSU/etc he can easily sell kids look,we are a lot closer than people are telling you. However by leading his team to be shut out in 4 games, it's a much harder sell.

The only thing that Ash can hard sell is the fact playing time will be ample.

Could see the following transfers/not come back though eligible:
Flanagan and Tsmis already not coming back.

Laviano, Rettig, Dare.
Hicks
Does Zach Allen come back?

Who else?

Laviano Rettig are clearly not part of the future - if they truly love football and wish to capture some glorious life long memories of QB'ing their final year team to victory, they probably should find a needy FCS program - they are not without skills - but the B1G game may be beyond them .

Dare ?
- probably same situation - challenge - what has he done since high school? so who will swoop in to attract him ?
- but what does he want ? what are his personal goals? would he elect to finesse his way to gaining a degree at school with a "prestige" name?

Zach Allen - ?
thought he was a one & done - but he is listed as "Jr." for eligibility this year - amazing - is there a way he can play all the way to defending his PhD dissertation ? can he use the grad transfer twice?

but bottom line - just don't see roles for these guys as Scarlet Knights - unless there is some unique position switch - and doubt that

Louisville, Penn St. and a lot of other teams have rebuild by extensively playing Frosh and RS-Frosh. We are next. Time for those remaining to get ready and step up.

Just need quality College Football players who happen to be freshmen
... not 13th graders playing football for a college team

RU4Real?

Thought he was coming along, and Niemann sounded upbeat on him. Nice sack yesterday.

I think "coming along" is a combination of coach-speak and expectations setting. I think physically he has a great upside tool set, but... I don't think his skills translate to this level. I could be wrong. We'll see.

Combined with injuries to both shoulders, his biggest liability may be a successful freshman year. I hope he is back and has a monster senior year both for his sake and RU's sake.

You mean like Greg's teams early on?

Once again, yes while Greg might have had his teams shut out 3 times in 01. His teams were able to you know maybe string together a drive once in a while that had a semblance of a pulse.

Our offensive gameplan against Michigan looked like something out of the stone age.

Silly post.

I'm sure Ash regrets not starting Gio that night but I think Michigan's D, for whatever reason, was out for blood as well. They didn't let up once. Not a single play, to the bitter end, it was scary no doubt. Regardless 1 of Greg's losses was to an abysmal WVU team, 80-7, let's not forget that either.
