Still 6 days out, but right now, it's looking like high pressure should be in control towards the weekend, with any showers from a disturbance to the south of IL likely being over by Friday evening with likely dry conditions for tailgates and the game, although can't quite say it's a lock for Saturday being completely dry this far out, as too much can still change before then. Should be seasonably cool with morning lows in the upper 40s and daytime highs in the low 60s (normal for 10/16 is 63/46F). The current NWS forecast is for it to be mostly sunny and dry, so let's hope that holds. And let's hope we play better...

The threat of showers will become lower over northern IL for the
end of the week, though the threat may persist over southern
sections of the area into Friday as another disturbance tries to
track eastward over the Mid-Missouri Valley. The extent of
precipitation into much of northern IL remains unclear at this
time. Otherwise, cooler air more typical of mid- October does
look to spread into the area for Friday and Saturday. This should
yield lower 60s for highs and lows down in the 40s by the end of
the period.
