What are your New Years Eve plans ? :

Hate having games scheduled on NY Eve, since we always host a modest sized (20-30 people) party every year and the party is about food, music and mild shenanigans (unless @mildone actually brings the hookers and blow), so no TV. Will at least get to watch some of the first game, as we're basically ready (way earlier than usual).

The Missus and I are ordering in some food and hanging with our son in the hospital.

Early dinner with the wife soon. Then watch rest of the second game and ball drop. Always thought this was amateur night. One can party and get drunk any night of the year. Much rather a fun summer bbq.

New Years Bowling Party. For those who want to go out, but not be around falling-down-drunk people, doesn't cost too much, and is relatively local. Been doing it for years, have a fun crew that attends.

I plan on watching JETLIFE on channel 2 at 11:35 pm to 12:05 am getting everything I need ton know about the Jets

hope Woody Johnson will show up with news aboutr next season. or advise us he is selling the team since there is little hope for 2017 in regards to the jets and it's time.

Going to bed early so I have energy for tomorrow's basketball game. Seeing the team for the first time in three years!

It's New Years Day here in Hong Kong. Just had a quiet dinner at home with the wife and kids and watched Laurel and Hardy silent movies.

At home where the wife prepared a tray of colossal shrimp in 3 different varieties (fried in coconut oil, bbq, mild buffalo)chicken wings from archie moores in new haven(mild buffalo/bbq)meatballs and i have myself a bottle of Tangeray 10 which is smooth

Little Larry, my brothers son has been working summers downstairs at the Parker house for ten years.
I'm going to visit you this summer.
The Mill is a bit fancy

OK. Sounds good. Made it through my last NYE behind the bar w/o incident. Between the 3 who worked upstairs we have 38 years and probably 1,500-2,000 events between us there so it was just another shift for the most part. Glad it's over though.

One of our better NYE parties for reasons I can't quite figure out and don't really need to, I guess. Peaked around 22 people around 10 pm and still had about 15 at midnight. That's not unusual. What was unusual was that instead of the usual post-midnight shooting pool and a bit of dancing and finishing up around 2 am, the last 10 of us hung out in the kitchen with me DJ-ing old favorites and (almost) everyone occasionally doing sing-alongs, until 3:30 am, which is way later than usual. Also, some obscene things were done with some of our toys/goofy action figures, like the mean nun and the squatting gnome. And @mildone apparently drank most of a bottle of MacCallan 18 and couldn't stop hugging people. It's what he does, lol. Even our 22 year old son came home from a party around 2:30 am, fairly hammered, and hung out with us, which was cool. Well, we just finished cleaning up and now it's time to go to sleep. Happy New Year's everyone...

Being 16 hours ahead, this all happened yesterday. We had our neighbors, Farmer Bob and Farmer Betty over for drinks. They are 78 and 73 respectively. It was pretty wild.

Funny thing down here. There are no New Year's shows on NZ TV. We had to watch an Aussie Sky News channel. They said they'd do the NZ countdown, but at 11:58 they cut to commercial. When they come back, the announcer says, "Let's go to the countdown in New Zealand." The tower with a countdown clock in Auckland comes up on the screen and shows a large 4. The announcer says, "SIX, FIVE, etc." Couldn't even get the timing right.

And yet, it's 2017 nonetheless.

It arrives whether we're ready or not. Happy New Year all!

Ugh. Hangover. :)

And there is no correlation between the hugs and Macallan. I hug everyone all the time. Good party.

Visiting a friend for a while, group of RU band alumni there, then off to another house party for the evening. Drinking plenty of water (and only water).
