It's been almost forty years since I graduated, and I know the meaning of words can change over time, but the usage of RU Screw has certainly shifted dramatically.
When I was in school, the RU Screw referred exclusively to actions or inactions of the univerity administration/bureacracy that had a negative impact on particular students or the student body as a whole. In other words, the students were getting screwed by RU.
Now, it's morphed into a term that is used when bad things happen to RU from some outside force or agency.
I sincerely hope this means the university has its act together and everything is great for the students. 🙂 Go RU!
