Going into the Minnesota game, most brackets had RU at 8 or 9. 1 round from playing the one seed. Today, I’m seeing 11/12/13. What if when the dust settles, and the committee is favorable, RU is seeded 12-14? Probably sets up a bit better.

This, of course, depends on an improvement in play.

I’m seeing 11 in most today. Solid play against NW and a B1G win should help. Of course, those things have to happen.

It's simply a function of how it all works. If there was a season where all of the smaller conference tourney champs were better than the bubble teams, then it bumps the play-in games on the bubble down to 16 seeds...but it's never going to happen.

Was thinking similarly if it results in making us mentally tougher and more focused. Our players are likely more resilient than most of us on these boards. And if that occurs and we can win a first round NCAA game vs. a 6 or 7 seed, we’d have a better chance in a second round game vs. a 2 or 3 seed. Have to look at the potential positive side.

They can be 12s if it works out that way as play ins. But at larges are pretty much always 12s and under. If a school like Nebraska won the Big 10 tourney they would be more like a 13.

You might be able to get a 12 with no bid stealers but pretty unlikely. There’s no way an at large is ever getting 13+

I don't know where some are seeing we're seeded 11, 12, etc. Most top bracketologists still see us as a 9 seed. And I'm talking about those more skilled than Lunardi and the wet noodle Jerry Palm.

And both Minny and Louisville would have a 1st round bye while Rutgers would potentially be a higher seed and have to play an extra game (play in game).
Who cares about a resume. Win a couple games in March and 1st round bye.

It's the beauty of it to me...it's why heading into March, almost every school in the country still has dreams of winning the NCAA tournament. I wish that we'd get rid of the play-in games completely, go back to 64, and everyone starts on Thursday/Friday.
