surprised there has been no news from the NB police or anyone else by now. None of these beat reporters have stain I guess since they haven't posted boo. Back in the day every reporter worth his salt had an inside source to the local PD

One of the newspaper writers is reporting that Carroo was romantically involved with both women involved in the initial scrap.
Can we all just wait to hear what the official report is before we begin another round of rank speculation. We are all anxiously waiting to hear the official report.
I'm not sure what is more drama filled, the Rutgers administration, the team, or the fans.
Why couldn't he just be romantically involved with two guys wanting to be starting QB? ... just exhausted from this stuff. Being a Rutgers fan is pure and simple..BRUTAL. :weary:
If - IF - this is about who this kid is banging, family involved or not, he's a f* cling idiot if he hit one of them. Please let there be, at the very least, more to it than that.

- I'm inclined to - for just a moment - forget about RU & just think about a kid who always seemed to be pretty well grounded - unless he was some sort of toxic Eddie Haskel who put on a goody-goody face for the public but then had a sinister dark side! not impossible - but would seem to be rather implausible
It sounds like a short burst of impulsive poor thinking fueled by maybe misguided protectiveness - and -
If the basic gist of the storyline that has been hinted has validity and the alluded to level of seriousness is accurate - the consequences will be enormous and all-pervasive
for example - this likely makes even obtaining a college degree a real question mark.
plus - the biggest challenge could be reconciling things with in one's own head - - if suddenly all of your life plans are blown to pieces - you may feel that things were stolen from you -
...but - you are going to have to deal - deal with intense feelings like the classic stages of grief - denial, anger, bargaining, depression and acceptance.
I love the way this board is going to worst scenario, like a bunch of "wash woman", as my grandma used to say. Have faith that Leonte will be back. I trust his character, and want to believe he went out there because to defend someone close to him. In the absence of any real facts, that's the story I want to believe.

This would be so mind numbingly stupid if true in light of what's gone on. I mean, there just are no words.
Unfortunately all the news that has come out, lately, has been pretty much spot-on, and at this point - with the very similar stories popping up from multiple sources (board and otherwise) - how can you blame anyone for not believing what appears to be the story and, honestly, so freakin' what if we're talking about it? It's kind of important, to all of us, wouldn't you say? This isn't exactly a couple of kids on the team getting into a fight at a frat house.
CFB players, especially on scholarship, have the keys to the world handed to them.
It's sad and crying shame that some of them don't appreciate it.
I would hate to see Leonte be suspended for the season or kicked off the team and possibly expelled.

Eh, I'm not so sure about that particular aspect of things, however....there are other "scenarios" where, yeah, I guess things could get, for a lack of better words, "messy"?
Full disclosure - I have no idea how Rutgers does that.
But at other schools, definitely 'NO'.
"Recruting hostesses" (UF calls them "Gator Girls") are female students who are tasked with escorting high school recruits to social functions, etc., on recruiting visits. They are typically a standalone entity.
Now, again, i make no claims as to how these things are handled at RU but it's pretty widely understood that at other schools - particularly those in a certain conference down south - the job of a recruiting hostess is to utilize the full capacity of her particular charms on said recruit.
Recruiting hostesses are student volunteers. I have no idea if some might date players. That would seem to create a potential for uncomfortable situations for recruits, so I'm guessing not. The last thing you want is a current player at odds with a recruit over a girl.
Well, it's kinda their job.

Suffice to say that, while the south is known for being "conservative," politically, its young ladies who love their football above all else, are, well, a tad more "liberal." :cool2:
This is where Rutgers doesn't know how to play the game. I suspect we lose 70% of our recruits due to girls.

The dance team has a bit too many 2 star recruits as well. Schiano's dance teams were way hotter.
