When is Turay going to be game ready?

Let's just say there are more threads about him than snaps played by him.

We desperately need his Pass Rushing ability.
As we move into our B1G schedule this will more apparent than ever.

He was in uniform Sat. Not sure why.
Double shoulder surgery for an end rusher doesn't sound like something you'd recover from quickly. Sadly, I'm pessimistic about any meaningful action this year.

Take this for what it's worth. In 16 games against B1G competition he has 2.5 sacks.

Ever heard of pressures, hurries or demanding a double team to free up others? Go back and watch the MSU game last year. He is an impact player....... when healthy. He played hurt most of last year....not just after game 10.

I think he plays this week against Iowa in passing situations

Nope. What do they mean?

I put out a stat about sacks against B1G OT's with the disclaimer take it for what it's worth. You guys want to hang your hat on someone who may not play a down till late in the season, go ahead but to think he'll be some kind of force after all he's lost in strength, conditioning, and development seems more than a bit of wishful thinking.

I give him credit, he was one of the biggest cheerleaders on the bench on Saturday. He would turn to the crowd tryingto get them to cheer on the team.

I mean you are attempting to belittle someone's impact by providing a partial view (sacks only) of a pass rushers complete value to a defense. So, I used the MSU game as an example....maybe no sacks but hurries forced early throws that resulted in lots of incomplete passes.

Cook completed over 60% of his passes so lots may be a stretch. Threw for over 350 yards.

Yes, he made an outstanding blocked FG against Michigan 2 years ago. Since then he's been hurt, and he also let his physical condition and mental focus slide. Yet some still assign a mythical status to this guy. Ash gives playing time to those who work for it, and so far Kemoko isn't doing himself any favors.

Gentlemen, he is an ASSET, as opposed to a liability(see laviano). We need anyone who can help. The sooner he sees the field the better this pass defense will be.

Speaking of pass rush, we have done very little blitzing, against NM we never even showed blitz to try and confuse them.
I understand we had to defend the option so it was difficult last week, but against Iowa we need to blitz...IMO
Daron Lee lived in our backfield for two years so Ash knows how to send pressure.

Didn't want to get into that in my posts but yeah, it does appear that way. Flood did this young man no favors in several regards.

Just curious, when did Turay let his physical conditional slide? He was 190 as a true freshmen, He was 220 as a redshirt freshmen, 235 as a redshirt sophomore when he played as DL Coach Burnham said, "in a lot of pain".

SO, When did he decide to just let his conditioning slide? Was it Before the First shoulder surgery or after the 2nd Surgery ?

It's very complicated with regards to Kemoko. If you don know, don't mention it. There are some things not meant for public consumption.
