What's with Syracuse?

Before you post check the facts my friend, . Check last year's Syracuse Recruiting class and you will see 6 recruits picked Cuse over RU.
Most of Cuses '14' class and many of their better recruits washed out or transfered to other schools...4 star KJ Williams who we backed off did'nt cut it academically. Look closer and its a mirage but they are elevating their talent and getting some sleepers..i see clear improvement whether we like it or not...

You are somewhat correct. And the reason being, some of those recruits did not have a committable offer, no longer had a offer or were not a take for Rutgers when they wanted to commit. Had Rutgers gone after Strickland, he would have most likely decommitted from Syracuse and signed here.
I don't like or buy into the so called commitable or NC offer stuff but in Stricklands case i think he's right...I think Ellison was going wherever Strickland went as close friends. KJ Williams had a lot of schools back off inc Michigan and his cousin AJ Long was going there and SU needing a buzz took the shot...they had to know his academic shortcomings. We should be playing Cuse and UConn OOC...I don't buy the fear of losing recruits excuse..nothing better than beating neighbors and bragging about it..lol.
My God . What is the state of the Rutgers football program when we're left to argue amongst ourselves about the current direction of Rutgers football as compared to Syracuse? Rutgers lost several starters on defense, Hamilton is through for the year and Turay is a shell of himself due to injuries , its best player on offense ( Carroo) is supended indefinitely , and Rutgers is playing with a redshirt soph QB who never started a game before this season. And Flood is suspended for 3 games. Yet we're 2-2 and could have been 3-1 if penalties and a soft defensive scheme hadn't hurt us against Wazzoo. I know the first 4 games were all winnable but still everyone--enough with this sky is falling mentality. Geta grip....
I should have qualified my statement as it was regarding the entire post not just the Strickland event. At least Flood got THAT right.
I'm not using it as an excuse. I have no problem if any recruit picks a school over Rutgers. I'm sure he has his reasons for picking that school. It was reported Rutgers stopped recruiting Ellison after one of his visits. As someone mentioned we cooled on Williams because of his academics. Of those other kids the only other news I heard was about Strickland. Snorweah already committed and if we were to take another running back in that class, Strickland was a possibility and willing to listen. In the end Rutgers decided to pass and only take Snorweah.
I grew up in Rochester. You would be AMAZED at the level of loyalty the Cuse fan base has.
Upstate NY has very little in terms of pro sports other than the BuFF sabers and Bills>>>>CUSE is many peoples "team"............
I always found it soooo irritating.
That said,,I have NO idea how they recruit as well as they do in football.....and they are incredible lacrosse recruiters.....
IF SUNY Buffalo had there sh*t together they would have gone all out in D1 sports 3 decades ago and they could have stolent Cuses fanbase,,,,,there are some seriously sports starved people in upstate NY

Amazing statement because i live in Albany and see more RU gear and a close friend from Syracuse said they have to scattershoot recruit and on their boards they claim they can't out recruit us locally let alone PSU/ND/Pitt for local talent....Guase for 1 and Devin Carter recently decommitted from Cuse to come here and an OT last year...we do better in NY than Jersey ratio wise recently since after Marrone had just started making small NYC inroads.Were recruiting NY better than we ever have and HCKF is a Queens/LI guy.
Again, I watched the game against LSU and they looked a bit tougher (on defense) than just being competitive. If Cuse started a seasoned 3rd year starter at QB they beat LSU on Sarurday. This is clearly an improved team from the Schiano years.

No.....i GREW UP in North Newark and Belleville/Nutley.....1 wahoo poked fun of Newark and assumed i lived there by my name....I explained just because of my handle don't mean i live there still...i explained those who KNOW north Jersey knows NN is an old 50s/60s persona/stereotype of a certain colorful personalty i happened to identify with...I lived in Essex county for 26 yrs moved to NYC for 24 more before moving upstate. Thanks for following me though.
Butt Syracuse's overall recruiting class was rated worse than a bad RU Class of 2015

In the 2015 Class alone there were 6 recruits that choose Cuse over RU ( Sheppard, Pickard, Conway, Ealey, Ellison, Strickland ). It's all on Flood. He must go!

Check out rival's class of 2016 team rankings. Syracuse isn't even close and even with a bad Class of 2015, RU was ranked better ( 55 ) than the fruit ( 60). For 2016 RU is ranked 35 while the fruit come in at 63
As for the 6 from Jersey, maybe RU didn't go after them as hard as the fruit did , though Carter was the only one without an RU offer.
Not defending Flood, but lets get "all" the facts before claiming a reply was BS.

It's tough for visiting teams to play the Orange nerf balls in their rollerdome stadium, especially if you don't play them often. Northwestern completed a four-game home-and-home series with them not long ago, and Fitz hated the place. Doubt the Cats will play their again any time soon.
yup last year they sucked and were terrible and some said they should end their program, aka uconn, but now some on here act like syr will win the acc--who says fans are rational
