They look like crapola. The game seems to be going on forever. All they have to do is get 6 touch downs and they will win.

Iowa notorious under-achievers last 15 years. Surprised people are surprised. This isn't Hayden Fry's Iowa.

Ferentz and staff did a very poor job preparing the kids and they look overwhelmed at being in the Rose Bowl. Sadly they're embarrassing themselves and the B1G. Their easy B1G west schedule and crossover games against Maryland and Indiana masked a team that is more like an 9-4 or 8-5 team instead of 12-1.

Nothing, that is Iowa. Iowa is the 4th best team in the B1G playing the PAC12 champ. The 3 best teams were in the East and it was unfortunate that the #3 B1G had 2 flukes to get into the playoff over #2 UM and #1 OSU. But that is college football, weird shit happens.

Everything nick614 just wrote, and the fact that they have many guys on the field who are a half step slower than their Stanford counterpart.

Well, their fans don't seem to notice. Down 38-3 in the 4th, they score a touchdown and the place completely goes nuts... I've heard Midwestern people are optimistic by nature, but that is a bit much.

Agree with Nick and RUBand. Stanford is a great team first of all. Iowa did not play a really tough schedule. Wisconsin was a great win for them but that's about it. The BIG West is pretty weak and the East teams knocked each other off this year. Look for Stanford to be ranked near the top preseason even without their Senior QB Hogan who they will miss. I see them as high as number 3 especially if OSU loses all of those Jr's to the draft. Stanford will finish this year at around 4. Iowa likely will drop to 10 or lower. OU around 6 or 7. OSU moves up to top 4 and should be 3 IMO but that could also go to Stanford. MSU drops to around 6 or 7 as well. ND of course gets a pass and stays ranked high. Good team but always over rated. Houston jumps the most beating #9 and only losing one bad game because their QB got hurt. Still not sure how they lost but weird $hit happens as Nick said.

Iowa doesn't really recruit national. Its more of a local talent program (so I read). Iowa's style is an artifact of the old BIG. They look like a 90s team. The defense lines up the same most times. . Zone blocking on offense like Elway Broncos. They have an older "guru-ish" coach and play like it.

I've read in many places, including this board in connection with the Iowa legacy of many of the new hires, that Ferentz is somekind of jedi master in training and preparing OLs for the next level. Then you watch Stanford absolutely run rough shod over that line and get a boat load of sacks and pressures. The Iowa kids were tough and didn't give up- for that they deserve some credit- but they were not as naturally blessed or as well coached as the Stanford kids.

The team with the better Jimmys and Joes usually wins. It's been pretty obvious the last 2 days.

There isn't anything wrong with them, they had a great season. But they ran into a buzzsaw in Stanford and the best player in CFB.

It was an epic beat down.

The Iowa fans are in Cali- instead of being uried under 17 inches of snow with temps in the teens- I would be happy to escape for a week or so- and if my team scores it just icing on the cake.

I think they should have rolled the pocket for the QB he stood there like a statue and a deer with headlights in his eyes and took sack after sack. You figure some where along the lone some change would have been made to correct

Every year I see tons of people out here from the schools playing in the RB. I'll tell you this much, Iowa has some very good looking women. Like, a lot of them.

Watching this game, I am so glad we got Ash. Pro style offense is not for everyone. The game has progressed. Can't wait to see us play power spread.

Pretty sure they were being sarcastic.... Like when Flood finally put in Rettig for some snaps, the RU fans went wild

Iowa has not won any of the past 4 bowl games it has played in...
2011 - Insight Oklahoma 14-31 L
2013 - Outback LSU 14-21 L
2014 - TaxSlayer Tennessee 28-45 L
