We were 10 games over .500?
Had a home win streak this long?
Sat atop the league standings?

Any other feat that this season has brought that we haven't seen in a long long time?

Amazing.

Lots of positive things going on - question is how many B1G games do we have to win to still feel positive at the end of the season?

5 B1G wins would probably do it for most of the fan base. But from what I've seen from this team and from what I've watched from other teams in the big I think 7 is our ceiling.

At the beginning of the season I would have been downright elated with 5 conference wins - afraid many would be disappointed with that now but I think we have to keep expectations in check.

Yes I agree. Rutgers fans are overly optomistic when we see signs of life in our athletic programs because honestly we don't have all that much success. With this start it is tough for me to not get overly optimistic but I think a low mark of 5 and a high mark of 7 would be a huge success and more than any of us could imagine. If we're being honest Pike's first season has been a success already.

Last two times we were 10'games over .500 was

February 1999...17-7 billet and hodgesons senior year...lost last four and split in bet to go 18-12 and just missed NCAA

February 1991...Rutgers got to 19-8 clinching the Atlantic 10 regular season champs before getting upset by st joes in the a-10 first round game and sweating out a 9 seed as An at large NCAA bid

More than 11 games was February/march 1983...Hinson, Tillman, black and Brunson senior year...started 20-4 and last time won a NCAA game

PSU, NW, NEB, MINN, ILL. 5 wins all at home. Would be nice to win a road game or two as well as another home game or two, but these are the 5 B1G games we need to win.

Yup ... and regarding consecutive home wins:

1) There have been 6 seasons since the 1970's when RU won 7 consecutive home games: 1982-83, 1984-85, 1990-91, 2005-06, 2010-11, 2012-13.

2) There have been 2 seasons in which RU has 8 consecutive game win streaks: 1978-79, and 2003-04 ... so this season's team has matched those 2 streaks.

3) The longest IN-SEASON consecutive home winning streak since the early 1970's (I stopped at 1974-75) was actually in 1977-78, at 12 consecutive home wins. You would have thought the 1975-76 team would have that record, but that team actually only played TEN (10) true home games out of 26 regular season games, that year ... for 10 consecutive home wins during that year.

4) RU's longest home winning streak, across multiple seasons, was 15 consecutive wins ... the last 4 home games in the 1974-75 season, 10 consecutive in 1975-76, and the 1st home game in 1976-77.

So ... RU's next 3 home games, spread out by a lot of time: Penn State (Jan 1), Northwestern (Jan 12) and Nebraska (Jan 21). ALL 3 of those are winnable games at home ... not saying RU WILL win those games (any or all), but they are winnable. RU's next home game is actually Iowa on Jan 31 (unless you count Wisconsin in Madison Square Garden, which I do NOT count as a home game). And that is also a winnable home game.

I cannot even believe I am saying this ... there is a chance, albeit a long odds chance, that RU could match its longest in-season home winning streak (12 consecutive home wins) since the 1970's this season. I would bet this would NOT happen ... but there is a chance.

Well I made the mistake of looking at the 2015-16 results - very sobering and clearly puts 5 conference wins this year in perspective as a legitimate achievement and a major step in the right direction.
