Where are the Temple trolls now?

I think we made our point guys...lets not start acting as classless as some Cuse fans. I'd rather see Temple do better as they grow their base/following than some of the more arrogant schools...even Nova BB fans makes me sick but most of UT's fans are just like us.Let the number speak for itself and lets let it go.

Perhaps their fans are smart enough to realize they can get tickets on stubhub for a fraction of the price. I suspect there will be more than 50 Temple fans in attendance.

A lot of our fans seem to really care about Temple. Well, I guess we will have to wait till 2020 to resume the rivalry.

How many fans do we send to non-drivable away games? Fresno / Washington State where both prob few hundred if I had to guess. Even that had many west coast alumni (like myself at the time). Smaller school means less dispersed alumni.

I don't think traveling to this game matters, but their bowl tickets or representation should be good. If not, it's going to be tough to justify anything being built for the future.

I would be more curious about what type of TV rating they will carry in Phila tomorrow, they really don't have any competition on TV against this time slot. If the TV ratings are so-so, it would be a bad sign. I think people would watch on TV in the area down there.

Unless they win the game, the AAC Championship Game is against a better opponent and a better location than at least one of their bowls. Here are the available bowls for the AAC:

12/19 Cure Bowl, Orlando (vs Sun Belt, probably Georgia Southern)
12/22 Boca Raton Bowl, Boca Raton (vs MAC, might be against one of the MAC Championship Game participants)
12/24 Hawaii Bowl, Honolulu (vs MWC)
12/26 St. Petersburg Bowl, St. Petersburg (vs C-USA)
12/30 Birmingham Bowl, Birmingham (vs SEC, possibly vs 6-6 Auburn)

NOTE:
USF is playing against a C-USA opponent in the Miami Beach Bowl on 12/21
Navy is playing against an ACC opponent in the Military Bowl on 12/28

If Temple wins, they are NOT playing in one of those bowls. Come on -- pay attention here.

I don't care about attendance much. Never blamed anyone for not going to a football or basketball game. I prefer to focus on what teams accomplish. After all, we're not talking about Temple as a candidate for the ACC, in which case 50 tickets would be relevant.

IT'S JUST FREAKING HILARIOUS.

There aren't 3K Temple fans in all of Texas to buy these tickets? Oh. I guess the PSU fans couldn't go to Houston to sell out the game for Temple there. Got it.

this is less on temple then the system. 1 week to plan a $1k trip and if all goes well spen another $2k for a bowl trip ?

If you are an executive at a NY6 bowl you are the biggest Houston Cougars fan in the world right now.

50 tickets man...
Seriously - one would think that they have a couple of hundred fans in Texas, LA, etc, for whom this would be a good chance to see the team.

At the same time - when thats the best dig we can take at them - its sad. We really need to get back to the point where we are no worse than the 2nd best team in the Northeast.

Sorry, but what? You are saying that Temple won't play in a NY6 bowl game if they win the AAC Championship? Help me see where I'm wrong:
1: A NY6 bowl bid is guaranteed for the highest ranked Group of 5 team. (http://espn.go.com/college-football...x-bowls-pool-college-football-semifinal-games)
"Also, the highest-rated champion from the "Group of Five" conferences -- the Big East, Conference USA, Mountain West, Sun Belt and Mid-American -- will receive an automatic berth in one of the six access bowls."

2: There are only three Group of 5 teams ranked in this week's poll.
#19 Houston
#22 Temple
#23 Navy

3: Navy is off this week and plays Army next week after the playoff selection. Navy has also already accepted a bid to the Military Bowl.

4: If #22 Temple defeats #19 Houston, they will be this highest ranked Group of 5 team. That gets them a NY6 bowl bid based on the rules identified in item #1.

Where am I wrong?

I believe they brought about 15k fans to the bowl game in DC they played against UCLA about 4 or 5 years ago. Have to believe if they win they will send them to the Peach Bow in Atlanta, much better chance of them bringing 5-10k fans than to Phoenix. No matter happens, nothing could have been more embarrassing or hilarious than what happened to UConn when they played in the 2011 Fiesta Bowl. I believe that ended up costing them over $1.5 million because only 2,000 of their so-called fans bought tickets.

You're not. That's why I'm sure if you're the head of the Chick-Fil-A Bowl you're praying that Houston wins because otherwise you might have to tarp off the Temple side of the field.

You are correct. If they win they go to the Peach or Fiesta, that is a fact. I am betting on the Peach in Atlanta.

No doubt about it. Houston has traditionally had decent support when they've had a winning program and I'd expect they will send a decent amount of fans to their bowl. The Peach is probably the destination for the winner of that game because the Fiesta took Boise State last season and the Cotton is a semi-final game this year.

BTW: Cincinnati is reportedly accepting a bid for the Hawaii bowl. That is the one bowl where traveling poorly to is generally ignored.

Hilarious.
50 ?????? Really, Temple ? FIFTY ??????
If you count the alpacas....

Nah, actually had a smaller one this year. We maxed one year at 35. The Kiwis just love the concept of Thanksgiving. Many of them have never had turkey or pumpkin pie before. They think the idea of pumpkin out of a can is hilarious. They eat pumpkin all the time, cut into pieces and roasted along with the kumara and salsify. But as a dessert? And whipped cream in a can (which you can buy) is the height of decadence. But our neighbours down the hill were kind enough to slaughter a turkey for the feast.

It's a different kind of place.

I'm not ripping on Temple but their fate in the AAC is precisely why they will never become anything other than an occasional feel good story. They just had their best season in 30 years and they are looking at playing in the St. Petersburgh Bowl on 12/26 against San Jose St. Losing to Houston was crushing for them.
