Where do you think the atmosphere will rank

Nuts is spot on and the cal game and others were the basis for my comment - we will see Saturday that OSU travels at a different level.
No they don't. Nebraska travels at another level. MSU, PSU, OSU, Wisconsin all travel well. Not at another level....

Because we lost. If we won people would remember it differently.
Yes and no. Ville was two top 10 (ish) undefeated teams late in the season on a Thursday night, with no other games on and the buildup was simply incredible for it. PSU was early in the season between two 2-0 teams that nobody was predicting for the top 25, much less the top 5-10. So in the run up to the game, the atmosphere for Ville was unprecedented for RU. And during the game, while it was loud for PSU, it was not at the level it was for Ville, especially in the 2nd half during our comeback, which was just insane. Sure I would remember PSU more fondly if we won, but I still would never put it on the same level as the Louisville game. And OSU won't be there either. Although it's pretty cool seeing the national ABC ads for the game on ESPN tonight.

You said it yourself with the especially in the second half comment PSU was loud whole game and a first big win against them would have been insane. Imagine a pick vs the long 3rd down conversion.

Still not the same - for me PSU never reached the Ville levels from the first quarter or most of the 2nd half - it just couldn't, because it wasn't nearly as important.

Having no expectations is not exactly electric.
Agree, how can there be an air of excitement, before the game, when the fans are asking each other about what would be an acceptable loss .

It's more of a bummer than a great feeling when you hope RU doesn't look bad when they lose, instead of thinking possible upset if things go right..

Compared to others we have had in big games. I think UL 2006 and pedd st are on their own level. UL 2012 was a notch below with michigan and I remember Cincy 07 was a great atmosphere. I would expect this to probably be better than any other game besides the 2 that I listed as our best ever.

Off the Charts!~

Ohio state will have 6000 ish people there...like PSU did last year...

Not worried

Much more worried if our guys will hang and not have an empty stadium at halftime on abc national to embarrass us

I think you are wrong. It was certainly as important. This place was hyped for 10 months for that PSU game, not just a week. The problem was - it was a boring game and frankly - a pretty bad one for RU - our QB after all had 5 INTs. There wasnt a crazy comeback to cheer on. In fact it was the reverse - PSU did all o the scoring in the second half. We didnt have a drive of over 25 yards in the entire 2nd half and in fact only had two drives of 25 yards or more the entire game.

I dont think this game has the historical significance of either of those two - but on the other hand - it has the significance of being on national TV against the reigning national champ and #1 team in the country. It has the significance of potentially being a turning point in this season and in Flood's career, and frankly for the program.

That said - I dont think it will matter. I tink we will trail by roughly 20 points for most of the game and the crowd wont be that into. But IIFFFF we somehow do keep it close - yes - it will be insane.

This exactly. If we hang in there into the 4th quarter it will likely be the best atmosphere we have ever had - up there with Louisville.

If we get down two TDs - agree with the board - people will just assume that it will be like last years rout, and tune out.

One thing that is likely is that if we are in it - it will also be somewhat high scoring. The one thing about the PSU game last year was - it was not that exciting of a game. Not alot of highlights. But OSU is going to put up points on us. If we are in it, it will be because we also are putting up points on them, which should help keep the crowd in it.

We have to be down more than 25 for our fans to give up.

Nobody is going to leave at half time no matter what the score. If it's 28 nothing people will stay till the 4th just to watch the #1 team. I mean what are you going to do go home and watch after spending money to watch live.

This.

Just to prove Derleider and I can agree, LOL!

Flood said today it will he the best atmosphere in college football.

If we can stay competitive..I think it could rival Louisville 06.
