Fair amount of nastiness here. I wish him well. He might have done it here if he had a lot of bucks to hire quality assistants, but it was shoestring budget all the way. We were 7-5 with a convincing bowl win last year with a great OC. That is a lot better than horrible. But without a great OC or DC, the job is too much for him. He made his mistakes, but none were of a venal nature, and I'm sure he regrets them.
I'm guessing he is an assistant at a decent program next year, or possibly an HC at a lower level. That may take a bit longer, but there are a lot of programs out there that might look favourably on a B1G coach with a mediocre record.

We were "7-5 with a convincing bowl win" thanks to a bunch of seniors, recruited by his predecessor, who pulled out 5 wins in 6 "swing games," as seniors tend to do, especially when one is a 4th year starter at QB.
You poor bastard, the Browns suck and will never get better.

Me, too. Born in Akron! Used to go to OSU games when they had Ferguson and Warfield, and Lucas, Havlicek and Siegfried (and Bobby Knight) in bball.
Bill Bellichek also had a pedigree and resume BEFORE he became a head coach, one that by comparison make's Kyle Flood look like, well, a high school math teacher. And I happen to think KF is an excellent college OL coach by the way but Bellichek comparison? C'mon dude. The guy had two super bowl rings as a defensive coordinator and masterminded one of the best single game plans in the history of NFL football. An actual copy of his defensive game plan for Super Bowl 25 vs. Buffalo is IN THE HALL OF FAME in Canton. The fact that he resurfaced after Cleveland and is successful is not the least bit shocking.
Maybe I shouldn't be, but I'm amazed at the vitriol exhibited towards a guy who gave it his best shot (sad as that might be). He was in over his head, when things started going bad he took the route other big time programs do and got massacred for it.
He did some decent recruiting, but not up to the standards that had been set. Some of that can be layed out on his assistants, which has been acknowledged as a consequence of a cheap-assed administration.
Now, I can't give you stats for his OL coach days, but my overall impression is he was around/responsible/took-part-in some pretty good OLs. Some good/great guys were recruited, some good/great guys were developed. Quite a few played on Sundays. Somebody must've believed that, as well, because it was parlayed into a HC position.
My gut says that (while I want HCKF gone) he get a P5 OL coach gig as he's a proven OL coach with some recruiting success and solid contacts in NJ. Remember: there are kids he's recruited that say if he's not the HC, they're going elsewhere.

I can see a new P5 coach hiring him as their OL coach based on the recruiting contacts he has in the region.
Agree on the nastiness.. but his stubbornness is causing much of that. I do not think he gets a good coaching job because he has proven he is not a good coach. He is a good people person, and a nice man, according to many, and his experience is worth *something* (even though he doesn't seem to learn from his own experience).. so he will be able to work in football at some levl.. I just don't think he can get a good job. Someone might hire him as an angle on NJ recruits to recruit against Rutgers.. but that won't work out.
I'm actually surprised this thread wasn't nastier given the responses I've seen in other threads. Anyway, I don't think it's fair to say he isn't a good coach; I would say he isn't a good head coach at the P5 level (terrible actually). I don't think he could be a coordinator either. He was at the very least a serviceable OL coach and I expect he'd get another shot at it somewhere. I also think he could be a head coach at a lower level. As frustrated as I've been this season, he will get other opportunities unless the ongoing investigation uncovers something damning.
This has to be an incredibly hard year for him. Could see him taking a year off, but he'll be back in football. I don't think he'll get another shot at head coach at D1, but he would be an asset as an assistant at most schools, and could run a smaller program.
