Fair amount of nastiness here. I wish him well. He might have done it here if he had a lot of bucks to hire quality assistants, but it was shoestring budget all the way. We were 7-5 with a convincing bowl win last year with a great OC. That is a lot better than horrible. But without a great OC or DC, the job is too much for him. He made his mistakes, but none were of a venal nature, and I'm sure he regrets them.
I'm guessing he is an assistant at a decent program next year, or possibly an HC at a lower level. That may take a bit longer, but there are a lot of programs out there that might look favourably on a B1G coach with a mediocre record.
