Who Starts Next Year?

Deonte Roberts
Tj Taylor
Isaiah Johnson

We're going to be thin but better at LB. Need the second group of guys - brandon russell, trevor morris, margolis - to step up big time.
Hopefully after 2016 we see Sidney Gopre finally get to the Banks.

Can't see Gopre ever on the Banks.

This board has become a youth league. Everyone gets a participation award and no one can talk about a player's shortcomings.

When people discuss a player's weaknesses others call it bashing. Those that think any criticism isn't allowed on here should just avoid the board or not engage people that you deem in your narrow mind as negative.

These are college football players. Any discussion of both good and bad is part of the territory and they understand that. People on here should understand that as well.

One of the reasons we are where we are as a program is the quarterback play And uncertainty . This will be what the 4th pring practice in the last 5 years that the starting quarterback position is open for competition . The only year it wasn't was 2013 when Nova entered the spring as the entrenched starter . Even that was questionable coming off the Virginia tech disaster .
We are longing for a guy that can lock down the spot and be competent for 2-3 years .

Najee Clayton could make a run at LB. Doubt he plays SS solely because Hester has they locked up for 2-3 more years. I could see Clayton switching to LB, he's plenty big anyway.

Who will start will be decided by the coaches (the professionals) based on the winter program, spring practice, the ability to absorb a new system on offense and defense and basically execute what the coaches are coaching/teaching. it will be interesting to see how this rolls out. Oh and I am pretty sure it won't be decided on the internet by a bunch of wanabee coaches thank goodness.

It depends on how many times he's posted before and after Rivals went to the new format. Someone like Nuts or Bac might have 20,000 likes if they'd had that feature all along

I think the first question that needs to be answered is, what kind of offense will Coach Ash be able to install in his first season? With four scholarship QBs in the program for Spring practice that were all recruited for a Pro-Style offense (according to another recruiting site, even Gio was ranked nationally in the mid-80s as a Pocket Passer), it seems to me that it will be less likely that a true spread offense is run in 2016 . My opinion, Coach Ash sees that Rettig has the higher ceiling after spring practice (something Coach Flood failed to see) and will be better served to steer the ship until the right pieces are put into place to truly move to a spread offense in 2017 and beyond.
