Would love to meet you all.
No she'll be there, but her seat was moved from the 20 yard line to the 5.I'm going to go out on a limb & guess that Maureen Casey didn't get an invitation.
Anyone know what donor level is required to get invited?
daaaammn. I would imagine not too many board members are hitting that mark.
I'll be there. Will your name tag read Scarletwoman?Would love to meet you all.

Food wasn't bad last year. I have had worse.I hope the food is better than last year.[cheers]
Is that annual or lifetime?According to the R Fund brochure, it is $20,000. But I think they invite more than just $20K+ donors.
You know there is a flip side to that.Okay so you are a joke. I can't believe the fan base that disses people that give to the athletics department. So sad and why where are we are.
No I don't what is the flip side, give me a clue? I am bothered because I asked a legitimate question of an event that I am attending and wondered if any from this board were doing the same. But so be it, and an added reason why I will be leaving rivals. You know there is a flip side to that.
I think it's great you are attending but we live in a time where it's considered evil to be well off. Did you really expect this thread to turn out differently? No I don't what is the flip side, give me a clue? Thanks for all you do for Rutgers Sports, Scarletwoman. I went to the dinner last year but I am on vacation this week and decided not to attend, plus the price was bit high :-). I think the food was great last year and really enjoyed the whole experience. It's really amazing that they honored Bill Bauer since he passed away recently - obviously the last opportunity to publicly honor someone who gave so much to the university. We do not consider ourselves "well off" but we've been able to up our giving over the past 2-3 years - our children have finished college and gotten married and we have not yet retired. If we could give more we would, but who knows what the future holds.
Upstream, no problem with that It is sad that fans who cannot give as much diss others that can. We all want the best for RU. Maybe this is why I shouldn't be on this board and many others that I know aren't. Oh well.SW - I'm sorry I brought up the cost of this event. I really didn't think it would bring assholes out of the woodwork.
I did not think it would be this bad. But my bad I will never post here again. I am gone,I think it's great you are attending but we live in a time where it's considered evil to be well off. Did you really expect this thread to turn out differently?
This thread is a perfect example of why Rutgers has a long way to go to be big time.

Sorry you took such offense.I'm also a proud Rutgers fan, who did put 2 sons through Rutgers and they have done very well because of it. There was no malice intended, and I'm glad people like you and your husband can give back.I know both my sons have donated when they received requests in the mail. Just a little light hearted fun, and I'm hardly a joke, but I guess I deserved that.Okay so you are a joke. I can't believe the fan base that disses people that give to the athletics department. So sad and why where are we are.
I'm with you.Am I missing some asshole posts or is there just some uber sensitivity here? Thread seems polite and, at its worst, nothing more than sarcastically humorous.
I'm with you.
I don't see anyone being dissed in this thread.

I don't disagree, but which post ridiculed her?I didn't expect ridicule to be directed at the OP. She asked a legit question, hoping to meet board members at an event. I can't speak for the OP, but I can imagine that she probably didn't like being used as the target of other people "joking" about how she was attending this event.
I'm partly to blame, since I brought up the cost of the event. But I did so to remind the OP that she probably wouldn't find a lot of people attending due to the price. I expected that some people would comment on the price, or make comments like the "Maureen Casey" comment. But I didn't think that Rutgers fans would target their humor at the OP, making fun of the people who support Rutgers Athletics in the way that is needed most.
I expected that we are all Rutgers fans, and all try to support the program as much as we can and whatever ways that we can. Obviously we can't all afford to make sizable financial contributions, but we should appreciate those who are able to do so.
