Why are our OL so terrible at pass blocking?

Going out on a limb here....but I think coaching might have a bit to do with it.

What were folks saying a couple years ago about having 3 oline coaches on the staff? Muller/Denman have been awful most the year & Lumpkin has not lived up to hype in any way imo, these players haven't been getting coached up

A lot has to do with we don't throw enough short passes, and Laviano holds on to ball too long.

RU is always far behind so passes are expected. Defensive interiors turn into banshees in those situations. OL get worn out with medley of DLs and LBs coming at them hard all the time. You have to handle Bosa, then Darren Lee then Bosa again and on and on

Teams are blitzing the hell out of us on third down. They have no fear that Laviano can hit accurate quick passes to make them pay. Watch when we blitz(which are poorly designed) the ball is out of the QB's hand within a second or two and hits the receiver in stride for big gains. Laviano does not make quick decisions plus our RB's can't block worth a damn. There are ways to beat a blitz but you have to make quick decisions and be accurate our QB stares at one receiver waiting for him to get open. The line is not free of fault but it doesn't all fall on there shoulders Nebraska was brining the house (6 guys) a lot on those sacks.

This team hasn't had a decent OL since 2008. Since joining the B1G, they've been overmatched in the trenches. And It's getting worse.
