To think some (including several who post on this board) felt that a coach from Fordham wasn't good enough for a B1G school.
He's one of only 3 coaches at this school to have won a B1G ring, so those folks criticizing his hire can kindly STFU now. Next step is to do what men's lax is doing and upgrading the OOC slate slowly but surely to up the RPI. Recruiting will be a boom with a B1G ring both in the club teams and in the portal.
Don't recall many people criticizing the hire. Let's not make it seem like it was anything more than a couple out of what, maybe a 50, who post.
The mindset that “we have the talent in NJ” has to be dropped in every single sport at Rutgers. We have decades of data that that plan does not win championships. That is not the way to recruit in the Big Ten or to make noise on the national level. We need elite athletes. They are all over the map, not just in the Garden State. The same goes for the transfer portal as well as prep recruiting.
There were, without question, just can’t recall exactly which posters (not necessary, anyhow).
And this has been completely shot down by women’s soccer who goes to the NCAA is every year, has won a big 10 title and went to the final four last year, with a roster full of jersey girls (19 or 20 of them).

We're pretty much an everything minus football school at this point. We had TEN teams ranked or RVs in sports last year.
RU really outside of football and volleyball is B1G quality across the board in athletics. Can't forget field hockey who won a B1G ring last year, gymnastics was ranked, wrestling is a perennial Top 20 team, women's crew/rowing has been in the NCAAs 3 years in a row, track&field and swimming scored Director's Cup points, etc.
