I have no clue as to what could have possibly lead to the 3 game suspension decision.
The report was clear that Flood acted willfully. He knew his contact with the professor was wrong, he was
advised by his academic staff not to go there, yet he did anyway.
We handled the Rice situation poorly and this looks to be a repeat performance.
Who here is in charge?
Flood violated his contract which is cause for dismissal.
This means he can be fired and we owe him nothing!!!!
Are we going to wait until the season ends, fire him for performance, and pay out his contract?
The decision to terminate was easy and should have been done.
No excuse.

Agree, or at least suspended indefinitely. I think they actually thought Flood could win this season, LOL

If Julie and Barchi were smart they would have milked the investigation through the mid point of the season, seen how team was doing and if they were crap in conference again you fire for cause using same reasons for suspension and save yourself a $1.4 million buyout. Dummies just dummies.

They couldn't even fire Mike Rice for cause. I'm not convinced it would have been so easy and in the end, would likely cost a similar amount of money between lawyer's fees and ultimately settling.

Negotiate a separation package with him. That's what needs to done. His buyout is cheap anyway, don't focus on the money, it's peanuts compared to the damage he's done in the long term. Rutgers needs to start acting like an organization that belongs in P5 football. Otherwise go back to the Ivies.
