Why was the tweeting to recruit thread deleted?

I guess warning people on the dangers of tweeting at recruits is off limits.

That should fix the problem...:flushed:

I understand this is the culprit:

Al wrote a song about it and posted it to Youtube. No need for a post on a message board any more.

Maybe the tweet thread was deleted for fear that the deleted thread would be tweeted? Honestly the headline stated fans are "attacking" recruits, the subtlety of obnoxious tweeting either by attacking, questioning or annoying is up for interpretation. The tweets were uneccesary, but that said the recruit also blew it up..and I wouldnt say he was attacked. But again the three idiots should have done nothing. Look at SBLB_BBC, he is the single worst represtative of Rutgers on social media

Not that its right Ive seen much worse, and maybe this recruit wanted a little more positive fanfare then he got?

I deleted it. I was reading it during my break today, and since I wasn't going to be online for hours, I decided to can it. My thought was that this has already been discussed. It seems like Al was a day late to the party with it....unless the "already discussed" took place on the Round Table, not the free board. I was under the impression that it was already discussed on both boards.

Do we think fans of any big-time schools feel the need to police each other like this? The whole thing was so minor and inconsequential to begin with. It didn't deserve a second glance or a mention.

The next time the NCAA comes down on a school because its fans tweeted at a recruit will be the first. As long as the recruit isn't being subjected to racial or ethic slurs and no one is being physically threatened, just leave it alone. I've never tweeted at a recruit to be clear, but I'm glad we have fans that so since many or most like the attention when it's positive.
