We've lost 32 in a row. We've had 3 players sidelined due to injury for most of the year. Add to that the 4 games (total) that we lost Corey.... and I feel any team (see Wisky last year when Kaminsky / their 2nd best player were sidelined ='ed an RU Win).

I don't care RU played against Minny and they started 5 walk on dwarfs. Rutgers played with 6 scholly players virtually all season.

Unless John Wooden, Adolf Rupp or Dean Smith is going to tak over at the reigns (and they're all in another dimension), we might as well give EJ support, let Corey, Laurent, Freeman (hope he's back), Foreman, Doorson and recruits show what they can do.

Corey seems happy with EJ. That's good enough for me.

Agree Mo.

We played what I'd consider a pick up team yesterday. I was so happy for the players as they've tried all.year and finally played a team in a worst.situation than us.

Can't wait till EJ gets relieved.of.his duties after the BIG Tournament.

Yes. He's definitely got this ship turned around and pointed in the right direction. We better extend that contract for 3 or 4 years before some other program scoops him up. Eddie earned it with that win!

MO -- 6 scholarship players virtually all year? Hmm. Interesting math. The program has 13 scholarships and had 3 kids injured. Okay, there were a few games when Laurent was out too. Sanders suspension? Stuff happens on Eddie's watch. Fact is, there should have been 10 kids available.

1. Sanders
2. Williams
3. Grier
4. Foreman
5. Laurent
6. Lewis
7. Daniels
8. Goode
9. Empty seat - transfer sitting out
10. Empty seat - Eddie's decision

So, which hurt RU more -- 3 injuries or Eddie's decisions on #8-10? Feel bad for the kids, like Lewis, that played hurt because the bench was short. Half of the manpower shortage was the head coach's incompetence in managing his roster.

Reality is they had 7 players, and I never went to games hoping we did not get in foul trouble. Eddie has to go but never saw a year like that and Lewis was a warrior this year. And Boylan said they could not practice hard this year, kid turns ankle in practice.

Last night's win proved absolutely nothing other than Rutgers had a better team than Minny's walk-ons with Minnesota having virtually their entire starting lineup hurt or suspended. The problem with Rutgers is not only poor recruiting but poor coaching and worse player development. Good example is Bishop Daniels who by all accounts is a good guy and positive influence. But he's a very poor player with teasing athleticism. No outside shot, poor defense , a virtual human turnover machine. Typical was his second half out of control drive down the lane that resulted in another turnover. Granted there's nobody behind him on the bench ( unless Williams is moved to SG) but don't you'd think EJ would at least say something to him?

Ok, we fire EJ which I don't agree with, who are we bringing in. We can't keep switching coaches every 3 yrs, I think he deserve another year.

If Eddie is replaced with a solid coach and very good recruiter we are setup for success for the next 3-4 years. Next year in year one coach with healthy squad will win more than we did this season and it will show progress. If new coach is a really good recruiter he is selling improving team, new facility coming etc, and will land better talent than Eddie.

Eddie is not a great recruiter and his teams lack defense and talent. Not sure keeping him 1 more year fixes those foundational issues. Will he win more next year if kept? Yes, will we be setup for an NCAA run in year 5? No I don't believe so.

So why not make a switch now and set up a better fit for success?

I am on the fence...not because I think EJ is the long term solution
but because I know how RU has worked in the past
We are a Hinson and a Douby away from being competitive LOL

EJ is a loyal son......his days ARE numbered......but he gets more leeway IMO

The word IS OUT...the BBall world knows RU is struggling
Unless someone amazing steps up and show interest
EJ probably gets another year
and heads on this board WILL explode LOL

Vegas didn't agree with you since RU was a 2 pt dog in the game. I don't disagree on Daniels but we just don't have enough guys to bench people. If you look at the starting roster, there is depth and flexibility at every position. No team goes 4 deep for any position.

Exactly Minny had walk-ons. Northwestern game we had two walk-ons in game who did not score and people thought we should be competitive? Guard Williams and who will score that game?

Tara Sullivan and Steve Politi both seem to believe there is little chance Eddie comes back. The excercise to keep thinking this program is headed in the right direction with him is amusing. Its big picture we have small time fans clinging to small positivea that mean little to move the needle

Whether Eddie stays or not, the fact is yesterday's game was really a reflection of our season, showing that even our terrible Rutgers team could beat up on a shorthanded team. Minnesota had a roster yesterday which was similar to Rutgers roster for a large portion of the season.

On to next year.

He probably doesn't. Don't think the word that Eddie is not connecting with donors isn't important. Hobbs is looking at the big picture here. He needs a partner to build with, like Ash. That is not Eddie Jordan.

They played with confidence yesterday. Easy behind a keyboard to blame Jordan with the coachspeak, crutches, and lack of accountability to blame partially for our season.

Wonder if there is a front office job for Eddie. He's clearly not college head coaching material, but he is a loyal son and I'd hate to see him disgraced by being fired.

Eddie was smart yesterday and trapped Minnesota. I think Eddie would have liked to press more this year and you can't with 7 players. I think Sanders would have been great for a team that uses the press.

Yep the comment from the mod on the Round Table the other day was huge

Twenty five years of futility clearly shows the prior hires were not the answer .Hiring on the cheap also isn't the answer and neither is delays in the construction of the practice facility.

Politi and Sullivan maybe outcasts with the basketball staff, but they do not seem to be outcast with the new players at Rutgers, namely Hobbs and Ash.

I'm done arguing about Eddies future. That argument will be settled by the end of the week. Just reading the tea leaves here, it really seems that the writers know what's about to happen. Throw in Pete Thamel, and they will look silly if Eddie is retained. Given Politis interaction with Hobbs (getting a 3 part series on Ash), I'm guessing he knows something. I also think Hobbs would have announced Eddies coming back yesterday if that was the case.

And finally if Eddie stays, I will still be a fan. I will cut my season tickets for sure, but I will hope things get better.

Too bad. If he had lost them, we probably would have won more games this year.

Glad the kids won yesterday. But giving accolades just because they didn't give up is mindboggling. To come and play 100% is expected. I don't understand why people thinkthat by not giving up that expectations have been met. Watching fans oogle about a basket being made is comical. That's how low expectations are.

Winless season are remembered by everyone. One win season are just remembered by the schools fans. It made this year just awful, not historic

This is a solution I thought of this morning. Put Eddie in some administrative function (Asst. AD...whatever). Bring in a new coach who's got STAIN...tons of F'ing STAIN !

Keep COREY SANDERS!

Recruit....RECRUIT .... RECRUIT!!!

Don't think he's lost the team and really think these kids play hard for him.

Truly don't understand what he has tried to do defensively. I'd switch about 75% less often than we do. Just drill into these guys to play tough fighting man defense. Switching as a last resort. Get over/around screens. Don't let the oppo set us up. Feels like we are in mismatches for 40 minutes.

I've always found the notion of "lost the team" to be an invitation to BS. What does it mean? I'm guessing it doesn't mean that the team is back at the Marriott while Eddie's on the bench looking for them. I'm also guessing that people see it differently, with most using vague phrases like "still believe in him" or "still buy into his system."

To me, it's hokum, just like people who say that they need to "find themselves."

More important is whether the coach has "lost games." And that we can be sure EJ has done, and more prolifically than anyone who has ever coached here.

It's Sullivan and Politis job to be A holes...their work isn't strong enough to hold up on their own, and they are outcasts at the RAC because of the constant irresponsible hack campaigns over the years.

It's the only angle they have...
Funny how the angle is different with Ash. Whatever angle you decide to proclaim for the media, EJ earned it.

The only reason the pressed worked yesterday is we played against of walkons.
Seriously, does anyone think that press works against a real team?

And who were we missing yesterday - Freeman and Shaq
Not enough

I am VERY HAPPY the seniors won yesterday.
But...

Welcome Herb Sendek!

What some fail to realize about media like these 2 is that they don't have your best interest at heart as Rutgers fans.

They would sooner piss on your university when it struggles then do anything substantive to prop it up in support because that doesn't drive clicks anymore.

Just because things are all nice nice with the new FB staff now doesn't mean it'll stay that way at the first hint or whiff of literally anything that could be blown out of proportion for their own gain at the expense of Rutgers fans everywhere.

They've proven this time and time again...it cannot be disputed

I dislike Politi and the Ledger more than anyone, but Jordan has been an abject failure as a coach. This cannot be argued. He needs to go.

The win was nice to not join the ranks of winless conference teams like BCU. That's it. It doesn't all of a sudden make Eddie a good choice for RU.

And Politi is a hideous prick. F him.

I dont like Politi or Tara but they are right here....you dont have to be a media hack to come to that conclusion.
