Many fans have voiced displeasure with our 3,000 mile trips to play Pac-12 opponents on the west coast, which is tough on travel and being blacked out of tv...Mostly all of us despise the Yankee Stadium game because of the terrible sightlines and crappy field. Having it be against Maryland doesnt bring any added exitement and also forfeits home-field advantage...it does however appear its something that the B1G wants us to do and we should just deal with it...i know most of us are strongly opposed to it but if it something that needs to be done I am simply suggesting something to improve it....creating an annual home and home series at Yankee Stadium and Fenway Park between Rutgers and Boston College...

Pros:
Annual trophy game (world series trophy?)

Recruiting rival on our competition level not named Syracus or uconn

Regional rival

Power 5 opponent

Not on the west coast

Keeps conference (Maryland) game at home

A great (short) road trip every other year

Excitement to play at venues

Fox would love it since they are big MLB (could promote game during world series and NFL)

Makes B1G happy

Cons:

Would have to be played in November

NO ONE WANTS TO PLAY AT YANKEE STADIUM

Just an idea to a bad situation but i think would do very well

But that's going to piss off a few other segments of fans, namely the one that would rather never play BC again and the one that would rather get sodomized by a Swedish fire torch than watch their beloved Rutgers have regular games inside Fenway Park.

This is a bad idea.

OP. Stupid Idea. Playing in 1 baseball stadium is bad enough. BC at Fenway??? Pass.

Bad idea. Assuming that the team can get back to being at least a bowl-eligible team yearly, then we will likely be playing in Yankee Stadium 2 out of every 6 years in the Pinstripe Bowl vs. an ACC team anyway. No need to add additional games there vs. ACC opponents.

Horrible idea based on the premise that the Big Ten wants us to play at Yankee Stadium. They don't, they could care less. The decision to play there was self inflicted
Actually when this started to go down in the Julie era I actually heard this, that the B1G wanted us to do it.

The Big Ten has no interest in forcing any school to play anywhere. Rutgers has already played there multiple times. It not the House that House that Ruth built and New Yorkers aren't intrigued by it. Adds nothing to TV viewership.

Not sure if you guys remember but the west coast games are part of the B1G-PAC12 deal to play one game a year for each team against a similar (at the time scheduled) team. The 14 vs 12 schools may factor in but that's essentially the deal.

How about against West Virginia in Philadephia over labor Day weekend in a bought neutral site game.

That deal was cancelled. We picked up the current series from Wisconsin so they could play vs LSU.

Didnt plan on it being well received here but like i said if we need to play at Yankee Stadium which no one wants us to do why not so something like this...

its a solid ooc game and would be better than playing boston college at their place or playing in seattle

And since when do we only play games in fertile recruiting grounds thats the dumbest thing ive heard...must be killing it in washington after playing there the last 2 years

terrible idea. enough already

No...its a better idea then playing Maryland every year there which i hope happens just to piss off miserable pricks like you even more
Stop coming up with really stupid ideas and making false statements that Rutgers is forced to play at Yankee Stadium and maybe we wouldn't be so miserable

Oh the king of misquoting people is at it again, where did i make a false statement? Your reading comprehension skills are poor....

Aw hell no. I'd rather take a shower with Sandusky than watch another football game in Yankee stadium.

Read my lips: NO F-ING FOOTBALL IN BASEBALL STADIUMS EVER! Our home games should be played at home. Period.

Seriously, I'll give the admin a pass on the 2017 game because it was originally set up by the prior admin and it might have been politically unavoidable given the whole asinine Pinstripe bowl thing.

But if the current or a future admin ever schedules another home game at a baseball stadium, I will stop getting season tickets and find another way to entertain myself on Saturdays. And I'm pretty sure I'm not alone (well, maybe I am alone with the whole Sandusky hyperbole, but not with cancelling season tix).

Interesting idea....I like it. I'm fine with periodic Yankee Stadium games.
No. You're really not. You absolutely hate the idea. It's probably the worst idea you've ever heard and you've heard some real doozies. You would rather sky-dive without a parachute than ever attend another football game in Yankee Stadium. You would rather drink battery acid than see the admin schedule a home game at a freaking baseball stadium.

I've been around this board long enough to remember people taking a blood oath (and quoting Rutgers athletic department personnel as taking the same oath) that we would never, ever, play BC in *anything* due to the sneaky and dishonest way they left the Big East. I don't see any reason to retract that oath. We're a B1G team; we have nothing to gain from playing BC. And did I mention that they're scumbags?

And more importantly, it's a freaking baseball stadium and playing our football games there sucks worse than being disemboweled with a rusty rake. There are simply no words for how bad it is to schedule an actual home game there. Although I'll find some words.

In the meantime, people can have someone back an SUV over their head - that approximates the degree of badness of scheduling a home game there more accurately than any words could do.

Our baseball team can play there if they want. I'm sure baseball fans would love it.

Misquoting?? Dude are you drunk when you post? Are you lazy not to check your previous posts...especially your original post of this thread?? WTF is wrong with you?
This is in your first post. It's a complete fabrication from you to push a really dumb idea. I mean a really dumb idea. Go to BC and play at another baseball stadium?? Just go to your first post and read something you are too drunk to remember! Am I misquoting you??

"it does however appear its something that the B1G wants us to do and we should just deal with it."

Rutgers is not being forced to play at Yankee Stadium!!

Will we be playing at a neutral field when we play them away?

More of an opinion or judgement smart guy
