Michigan just took their 1st lead of game

Figures they would only score 18 in 1st 11 minutes today vs what they did coming out of the gate vs us.

Same thing happened with Ohio State vs us at their place.

And I don’t think either start vs us was because of bad defense.
Just bad luck.

I’ve mentioned in another thread that for some reason teams are very confident against us.

I also think if that first shot the lefty made, that hit the back of the rim with a thud, had popped out he may have been less confident on subsequent shots, so in that sense it was a bit of bad luck for us ( similar to several threes that were banked in against us). Teams start to feel both lucky and confident, likes it’s gonna be their day.

I agree about the confidence thing

It reminds me when whichever QB we play used to be conference player of the week.
(Although part of that was bad play on our part and not just confidence, but confidence probably plays a part).

Watching Simpson from our game and this game, he is much less effective when forced to go left. Not that he is bad going left but his points and assists seem to come when he goes right.

I disagree that the team played bad defense in UM's hot start -- there was a breakdown or two -- but for the most part, they were just hitting the same shots they were missing in the first few minutes today, whether it was the turnaround fadeaway from #1 or the perimeter shooting of #13 or the running flip from #3

because they stepped it up...they have talent and we didnt play great defense...I know you are trying to somehow say aw it was just bad luck...but Michigan and Ohio State have higher ceilings than RU..they just do. Thats why they won the games, it wasnt bad luck....Ohio State is a better team than RU

Michigan was unconscious from 3 against RU. If they shot like they did today against Wisconsin, it would have been an interesting finish. Sometimes great shooting trumps any kind of defense

Happ is a pretty fine college basketball player. We wish we had someone on the roster of his caliber of play. Where do you rate Happ on the Herb Pope Ain’t Misbehavin’ scale?
