You need to watch the last 2 mins of Cviv's press conference and listen to what she has to say ... it was just 3 years ago we PACKED the RAC for women's bball against UNC and Tennessee, last year took the wind out of people's sails but GET. BACK. ON. BOARD!! ... THIS is the team ... they can seriously win the Big Ten ... Elite 8/Final Four NOT a dream but can absolutely be a reality .. PLEASE help get the word out, bring your wife your daughters please help us fill the place for the ladies..... They DESERVE it !!! The team bleeeeds scarlet and is so fun to watch.

This team is really, really good. Our men's team was there supporting the women - nice to see. This could be a very good year for Rutgers Basketball - but we need all the support we can get. Success feeds success and great men's and women's basketball will only help our other team succeed.

I went to the women's game. Shocked how few people were there.

Saturday the week before Christmas following a huge men's game with students gone (or prepping for finals?) AND a Saturday night during Hanukkah. Tough one. Also, the last couple of season took their toll (see: football)....so HOPEFULLY they keep it up (fantastic turnaround, OOC, going from 3-11 last year to 12-2 this...) and the fans start showing up again! ...but DAMN only 1 vote in the most recent AP poll (putting us at 36th)??!!! That loss to Wazzou killing us right now I guess. Dang.

Anyway, keep it up ladies!

After tonight's win, ranked #9 in the RPI ... #9 !!

How is it possible to be that high in RPI but barely getting any votes in the polls??

Wow, that's a HUGE discrepancy, but my guess(es):

- unranked pre-season and still "early" so not much movement in the polls through OOC schedules

- a lot of voters out there don't like CVS or at least that what I've gathered over the years (see: tourney seedings, as well..)

- beat Wazzou probably Top 15'ish by now?

last year and generally the last several years hurt the RU reputation..out of mind out of sight, RU will get more votes this week for sure. The WSU loss hurt because they are a very mediocre 500ish team plus RU hasnt beaten a ranked opponent yet i believe so they are flying under the radar. I prefer sneaking up on schools

I watched it after the men's game. This team has talent, they just need some support. By the way, I am Class of 79, so there is a ton of young fans and students who should be leading by example here. I live in VA not 20 minutes away.

I was there. #35,15,3 and 5 have serious talent. It was so much fun to watch. The passing was sick.

I always get a chuckle when I read posts saying that Jewish holidays like Hanukkah have a significant negative impact on attendance.

what was our best year for average attendance for womens bball? In my time at RU I never attended a womens bball and i don't think i ever knew when there was a game. They didn't really market the womens games

womens ball isnt my cup of tea. But i may check one out this year.

I vividly remember people bitching(as usual) about the coach getting an extension lol .... she instantly brings them to top 10

People were bitching because for a cash strapped athletic department, WBB loses a ton of money. They upped Stringers contract unnecessarily, it's not like we were in a bidding war and the games are a wasteland of empty seats. She can move onto an administrative position at her $1mil. salary and athletics will be on the hook for that as well as a new coaching staff. That's a lot of money tied up in a sport no one watches.

Haven't made it to a women's game this year yet but from reading about them this team seems very special. Tyler putting up 20+ a game is impressive. Shocked they aren't receiving more recognition

Bingo.. why doesn’t Professor Killingsworth and his ilk ever say a word about women’s basketball which loses far more money than any other sport? Stringer’s exorbitant salary makes that program a complete money pit

No question. Years back, I attended RU women's games vs. nationally-ranked opponents pretty regularly. The last few seasons have really hurt RU's reputation as a more-than-solid women's basketball program. IIRC, I haven't been to a game since Pat Summitt's final appearance on the sidelines at the RAC.

This is the best team we’ve had in quite a while. I’m going to the Purdue game. I hate that $10 parking fee however. I doubt many schools charge that much for parking at a women’s basketball game.
Parking in the yellow lot has been FREE for all WBB games this season.
