It's looking that way. Especially after losing Geo and Ron and having a season like thisBTW, Pike will be B1G Coach of the Year!!
I always liked Tone Loc when he coached the Knicks 🙂Agree on Woodson. He seems like gentleman.
In what world is that NOT a technical? Pretty wild
Any explanation for why it was retracted? It looks like one official calls it in the video, and Woodson said it was called and retracted, but I cannot find anything confirming that and saying why.In what world is that NOT a technical? Pretty wild
The tech was called clear as day. Can't think of any viable explanation to retract itAny explanation for why it was retracted? It looks like one official calls it in the video, and Woodson said it was called and retracted, but I cannot find anything confirming that and saying why.
Announcers speculated that he didn't like that the assistant coach was talking to one of the refs.anyone know what led to it?
Rebraca fouled out on what looked like an awful call. players were exchanging words in heat of moment then next thing you know Fran is doing his thinganyone know what led to it?
The T on Indiana was the right call. Iowa takes the ball out quickly after every made basket and makes a point of talking to refs if the other team touches the ball. The technical was retracted because the refs didn't have the balls to throw him out (he got a technical in the first half already so a second would've been an ejection).
Shocker: Larry Scirotto was there, one of the guys who missed the Ohio State call.
Indiana also had the worst technical I've ever seen assessed on them. They called one of Jordan Geronimo for "delaying the game" by throwing the ball to the official after a made basket, which is something that happens 15 times every game.
Seemed pretty clear that the IU assistant was jawing with Rebraca and that got FM heated - he can be seen saying “ their coaches should not be shit talking my players - that’s bullshit…”.Announcers speculated that he didn't like that the assistant coach was talking to one of the refs.
Very fair points however given how often it happens in a regular game I think there should have been a warning issued first. Perhaps there was and then it happened again in which I would take back what I said. The T on Indiana was the right call. Players on the team that just scored can't touch the ball intentionally. It's not ok just because he threw it to the referee (with some arc on it so it was not quick). That player was intentionally slowing down the other team and exactly what the rule is there to prevent. If you were allowed to do that after made baskets it would change the game.
Delay of game warning more appropriateVery fair points however given how often it happens in a regular game I think there should have been a warning issued first. Perhaps there was and then it happened again in which I would take back what I said.
Agree in sentimate but a strong dislike for a coach could result in a shorter leash for T’s.McCaffery might be a great coach. But his on-court antics are really off-putting. I can't see how his behavior doesn't result in refs forming a dislike for him.
I don't think it'd be common for refs to consciously allow their personal feelings to dictate how they call a game. But I also know how powerful our subconscious is and I can't see how that doesn't negatively impact his team, at times.
I’m glad they don’t. Pike would be T’ed up incessantly. He almost knocked the ref over last night he was so far onto the court. Why isn't the coach's box rule enforced? Does it help TV ratings to see coaches acting poorly?
I hate that coaches aren't made to stay where they are supposed to stay.
