Kyle Flood doesnt embarrass me...

Players gettin arrested doesnt embarass me...

The so-called fans on this board embarass me, i cant stand nor believe half the crap that some of you write and then claim you want whats best for the program....

I dont know if this is something started with the Rutgers 1000 that was against big-time athletics because there is definitely an agenda here by someone and they are winning...from the series of a small black eyes that the local press blew up to the constant anonymous sources leakin info from within this thing has snowballed and now most of you so called fans are unbearable...

It was two years of listening to anti-flood crowd on to the Maryland 1st half thread of last year where many of you made fools of yourselves only to eat crow, now to the last month here, many of you have become brainwashed... After the wazzou game many of you said you were done with football and done with this team yet are still here posting your crap...take a hike, be a man of your word! You said youre done be done! Another poster said he cancelled his season tickets after 30 years cause of kyle flood which i call bull***t on because if he kept his tix thru the 90's this is nothing...

The thing that bothers me is our fans using the term thugs to describe leonte carroo as well as the others...

I cant even go on

ive never been more proud to stand behind this university and fight for its reputation which weve been doing for many years now yet you babies have stabbed it in the back and abandoned it when it needs you most...

Rutgers 1000 is winning

The Star Ledger is winning

And this free board needs to be shut down, its a cess pool

you know what embarrasses me....people who defend a guy who breaks school policy and knowingly circumvents rule and tries to act shady about it...and a guy who tried to help a known bad apple because he desperately needs him to play. I could care less he is a nice guy, that's not what he was hired for...as a head football coach you cannot cheat or break the rules...Kyle did

We have some of the best fans. If other programs had our shit history they wouldn't fill a thimble in terms of numbers of fans. Take a look at our recent opponent WSU as an example.

If anything, this program has proven time and time again it DOESN"T DESERVE ANY FANS.

Also, strong AVI to recent RU player activity correlation OP.

As an alum and a fan, Kyle Flood embarrasses me.
Players getting arrested embarrasses me.
I don't want to be Florida State on the field if it means we need to be like FSU off it too.
As an alum I am proud of the way Rutgers has handled these situations. I will always continue to support RU. But that doesn't mean this past month hasn't embarrassed me and the university.

Are you serious? Flood's pretty much only redeeming quality was that he was an honest man with integrity who does the right thing. Welp, so much for that! He sure as hell isn't a great football coach. He's an ok football coach. In no way shape or form should Kyle Flood be coaching this team next year. If Rutgers doesn't make a legitimate hire then I really don't know what happens to this program over the next ten years.

Us fans have an absolute reason to be embarrassed about Flood and the way the program has represented the university these past few weeks. I want nothing but he best for the university and a change in leadership is exactly what it needs.

Couldn't have said it better myself Crumb!

Rutgers1000 already lost. We are in the Big Ten now. The administration needs to start acting like it. Flood should have been fired.

I feel the same as you except I don't think RU1000 or the SL is winning, they just do what they do. I am always surprised at the venom RU fans post on social media about our program, they really have some personal problems. The beauty is you can click CLOSE and it is all gone. I am a fan of Carroo and of Flood and I don't think what they did is a big deal. If Carroo did not go outside that night, those two women would confront him to smack him around somewhere else.

He will given the same route as FHJ. He was told not to do something and he did anyway.

I didn't know Coach Flood was tutoring students in his spare time. When my sons went there, I should have told them that.:sunglasses:

He tried to get his starting corner eligible, he wants to win.
Lets be real, he would not have stuck his neck out like this for Brian Stonkus.

You are one of the few who gets it on this board and for obvious reasons.

The OP is entitled to his opinion. I am entitled to think he's a damned fool.

The football team draws strong crowds after what most big-time places would call modest success. The basketball program has been abusing its fans for a couple of decades. And yet we're still here.

The Rutgers 1000 had a couple of reasonable points, but their refusal to accept the reality the a flagship state university is not Williams made them irrelelvant. Instead of a force for maintaining academic integrity during the march to the big time, they became little more than a joke. Meanwhile, we're in the Big Ten. They won?

The Star-Ledger isn't in this for winning or losing. They need web hits. In their shoes, I would sensationalize everything as well -- as long as the actual facts were not twisted. Again, we're in the Big Ten. If they're "winning," what have they accomplished?

And I want Rutgers fans to demand more of the program than fans of other "big-time" schools do. That's not being a bad fan. That's accepting that Rutgers is trying to carve a niche for itself, a niche where "student-athlete" is not a weak joke and where character is supposed to matter. The events of the past few weeks have shaken the foundation of those beliefs, and Rutgers fans, regardless of where they stand on Flood, have a right to be troubled. It doesn't make one a bad fan.

Exactly. That particular player was very important to make the defense great. Flood must have wanted to double check with the professor just in case there was a chance, leave no stone unturned.

Is the OP an alumnus of RU? I am ...and the rash of arrests and the accusation about the "face of the program" player embarrasses me very much. The school has been dragged through the mud over the last 2 weeks across all media. The football program's hard earned reputation for being clean, hard working and academically serious has been destroyed in the last few weeks. The OP has the nerve to refer to the message board as "a cesspool".?? The biggest cesspool right now..unfortunately is the RU football program and it needs to get back on track which is going to require some major change. Hopefully that occurs by the end of the year. I'll never accept a "win at all costs" program at RU and hope no one else does. I follow the NFL and the NY Jets...since I was a young kid. Sunday's are for win at all costs...with all types ...including thugs running around the field. It doesn't belong in the college game.

You know what embarasses me. The fact that Not once other the the Eric Legrand situation have I seen our fans come together the defend and support the program. All it is is fire this person, F*** That Person.

I con't believe I'm am going to say this but, The reason Penn State is because better off now that before the scandal is that despite the varying opinion and support on either side of the issue they CAME TOGETHER as a community and prove that nothing can stop them.

I envy that part of what Penn State has. They defend there athletics programs and university no matter what, while we apologize and belittle ours every chance we get.

Some of you people embarass me as a supporter of Athletics.

If we beat PSU Saturday, they'll hang Franklin in effigy…give us something to cheer about, we're all over it.

you can only be embarrassed if you are too concerned with what everyone else thinks.. And with all the insecure bitches on this board, there are a lot of embarrassed people.

None of this stuff matters, and if it does matter, it certainly doesn't matter THAT much.

Its a sport, and in now way represents the university in its entirety. Coach Flood is a good guy who coaches football and likes helping young people (the mark of most good coaches you will come across). Thats IT. Call him a glorified gym teacher or call him a leader of young men.. it doesn't matter what you call him. Just don't sit there typing from your pedestals about how horrible everyone else is, there is a lot worse stuff happening all over the place that you should be concerned about.
The fact that we can focus so much attention on freakin football is telling of our society.

Big game against pen state this weekend. I think we can beat them if we shut down their run game and win the turnover battle by 2.

This is the only thing that can happen:

Only problem is that this is the exact type of thing he is prohibited from doing. Academics is up to the student and support, *NOT* the coach. He knew this and took steps to conceal it.

Read your own post, bra

If you stop looking at the media online, you will feel better. No one died, no one had sex with little kids, no one mutilated animals. Penalties will get paid, life will go on and the football program will recover.
My hat is off for you sir!

I agree.my absolute bottom line is PSU sufferred through the WORST scandal possible and they STUCK TOGETHER and got through it

We will be just fine

"They defend there athletics programs and university no matter what", that's what you're envious about? No matter what?

Just checking.

Talk about embarrassing!

RutgersRob, many of these folks are hypocrites of the highest order.

If Flood won the Rose Bowl last year, they would be up in arms about how he is being mistreated. Most are simply using this to further their personal agenda to hopefully get him canned, not realizing the short term satisfaction will turn into long term pain when no truly accomplished coach will sniff this job because of the lack of support from the school and community, as demonstrated.

Schools with mature fan bases and accomplishment don't act this way.

Cali - asking this only because I'm not sure if I missed it, or not, but what do you feel should have been the outcome yesterday? Thanks buddy.

Nuts- Anything but suspending him. The administration has no balls, and because of that, they make the stupidest moves possible. Either fire him right now or don't. Suspending him does nothing but hold the program back while giving other programs recruiting fodder. We have a good class right now. It's going up in smoke, guaranteed. No other real program operates this way. Why? Because it's stupid and unproductive.

Coaches and agents talk. Add all of this up and no coach is coming to Rutgers. I promise you this. A school driven by outside forces and covering their asses won't win big. Guaranteed.

OP, can't be an Alumnus! Otherwise, the events of the past month would be equated to a huge lit match under his degree. Embarrased? Of course we are! The one thing that RU has always had was the integrity of our degree, and the slightest hint that anyone could in any way jeopardize that parchment, is in it self an embarrassment! Rutgers Al, in his usual demeanor, called RU the "Stanford of the East." that with great humility, somewhere in the back of our scarlet mind, we actually thought this could be true, is now laughable. The events over the past month have severely tarnished those thoughts. Embarrassed, no ashamed.

You know what embarrasses me? Julie Hermann. Yet you support her and she brought more shame to Rutgers than Kyle Flood did.

If Flood goes, hen Hermann goes. PERIOD.
