Sima is a center with length. I know in the summer I saw him walking on campus with Doorson, Thiam, and Sa.
Well see what happens. That would be a great get, and I think Young could transform him into a big time player.
" led the team with 5.7 rebounds per contest to go with a 7.3 scoring average … finished second in the BIG EAST with 60 blocks"Sima tries to block everything. While he gets to shots and changes others he is rarely in very good rebounding position. St. Johns has two jumping jacks in the middle who both do the same thing. A bit painful to watch. Sima is an athlete with potential if coached up.

I have a sneaky feeling we will be involved. Would he be eligible to play 2nd semester next year? If so, that would be a nice target since we will need to replace Gettys up front.
What would be the cost of him transferring?
He'd be eligible for conference play next year and then 1 full year. He'd also practice with us immediately.
He'd take a scholarship out of our pocket for 2 years. Sounds like he only plays the 5 so he would be in direct competition with Sa and Doorson and hopefully Diallo. If all things equal a shot blocker can shave 4+% points off of FG%
I'd need to know more about the player and the person.
he is a sophomore so we'd get 2.5 years. Might need a year off to get the Jordan like Mullin or Mullen non compete stench off.
In a small sample yes...what happened to his shot blocking and rebounding? Big drop off from FR to SO. Is he upset about losing minutes? By looking only at numbers one would say it could be justified.

Here is a recent article about Sima and the other SJU bigs. Sounds like there's not a lot of player development on the SJU staff:

Was thinking the same thing. Interesting
Shoes son just retweeted the transfer tweet. I am sure we are now on the trail!Lol.
Baker and Thiam are our backcourt of the future.Wish we were in line for a solid guard transfer. Every one is worried about replacing Gettys.. I'm way more concerned with replacing Johnson and Sanders after next season.
Doorson still needs time to be considered a reliable threat. Obvious.
I think Sa can switch it up at PF and Center.
Well see.
It's much easier to find HM guards than it is to find HM bigs.Wish we were in line for a solid guard transfer. Every one is worried about replacing Gettys.. I'm way more concerned with replacing Johnson and Sanders after next season.
Sa currently backs up Freeman at PF, more than Gettys at C - though he does also play some center as well.

We have two ships for next year. One is committed to geo baker so there is one left. Whether this young man is in the mix may be a function of who else Coach P is recruiting and who he thinks he has a shot at landing. I saw an earlier post about a 5 star that is visiting RU and, coincidently, St. Johns. Pike may not want to use the only ship he has left. I don't know anything of course, just thinking out loud. (addendum. My bad, the 5 star is in the class of 2018). But the fact remains that we don't know if Pike has another recruit in mind.
