A whole lot of you are taking this 'national embarrassment' thing too seriously, imo.
tOSU, the #1 team in the country, came into our stadium last night and pounded us. It's known that their fan base travels well, and - guess what - they did. Neither of these things should've surprised anyone.
No one expected us to win last night. Hell, no one I know with realistic expectations expected us to be within 30 points. We played them hard for about 1.5 quarters, until Laviano's offense sucked the life out of our team.
Overall, it sucked. It sucked being there, and it'll suck watching replays. But this isn't some sort of event that sets our program back a couple years. As far as we can tell, recruits haven't started calling Flood with decommitments.
And FWIW - tOSU fans weren't as bad as PSU last year. I personally didn't have many negative interactions at all. There was one soccer mom behind us who clearly didn't know a thing about football (ie, "Oh my gosh, this stadium only seats 50k? Why wouldn't they build one that fit 100k like we did? I just don't get it" and "Go #1! He's so good, who is he again?") that got on my nerves but overall I'd say they were relatively good visitors.
