Rutgers Young Alumni (those who have graduated in the last five years) can get TWO season tickets at $193 each. Rutgers graduate students and staff at all campuses can also get season tickets for $193. Call the Rutgers ticket office at 866-445-4678 Monday-Friday 9:00-5:00.

Do these ticket buyers have to show an ID or qualify in any way to buy, then use the tickets on game day? Can these tickets be purchased and re-sold? With this year's sensational home schedule, I find it amazing that the ticket office needs to provide deep discounts. You know that opportunists, before real fans, will snap up these tickets.

Twister,
I THINK they check when you buy them, but I guess if people wanted to cheat at game day, they could probably get away with it. I can't imagine they make people bring their diplomas with them LOL. Rutgers has been selling these discount season tickets for years and I hope we keep doing it unless we start selling out the whole stadium for season tickets. The schedule is very good, but some schools will hardly bring any fans with them--Kansas,Washington State, and Norfolk State. Maryland will probably sell their allotment, but the game is late November and if the team has not had a good season and/or the weather is bad, I would guess that some who bought tickets may not show.

From my experience they do not check to see if you're either staff or young alum. Maybe they do after the fact, but they never looked up my grad date or my employee id up when purchasing at the box office.

Okie,
I hope someone is checking--either way, at least it brings in more people.

As someone that just graduated I know that myself and about 15 of my friends have used these discounted tickets as a way to be able to be season ticket holders without breaking the bank. Athletics actually had an offer that anyone who attended 15 or more winter athletic sports (basketball, wrestling, gymnastics) would be able to get another 99 dollars taken off of the price which for alot of the just graduated senior was great because we haven't started or are just starting our full time jobs so 100 bucks is a lot of money to us.

There is also a 5 year limit set on the discounted tickets and after that time you move up to the regular season price. As for selling the tickets, yeah you could do that but the only ones that will help to make back the majority of the money would be on ohio state or michigan state which are the games my friends and I are most excited for and don't want to miss. Either way I hope the privilege is not being abused and it is young/recent alumni that are buying the tickets.
