Heard the rumors for a while but now its official. I wonder what this means for the NIT? Back to more mid majors in the tournament?

"The College Basketball Crown will unfold over a week in Las Vegas next April, featuring two automatic qualifiers apiece from the Big Ten, Big 12 and Big East that didn’t earn NCAA tournament bids, as well as 10 additional at-large teams selected by a committee. All games will be broadcast on either Fox or FS1."

So this says it will be in April?

Can a team play in both the NIT and this? I don’t see why not as schedules won’t overlap

I don’t see how it’s being advertised as “a competitor to the NIT”.

A team is gonna have 2 weeks off in the end of March..then play in a tournament in the middle of transfer season? Weird.

Coach is going to not want to play and the players will want to play if it is about earning $

Who wants to be in this with the portal being so important? NOBODY.

we are moving toward paid tournaments only and power 64 schools
Except overtime the non football playing schools will eventually be excluded. Hey the Ncaa tournament is all about $-- don't kid yourself it's a made for TV event regardless of all the bracketology stuff and power football schools need the cash. You can't continue the current Nil formula. The small non football schools can do their own thing on cable tv.

What's up with the Vegas push across the board lately? It's such a shit hole city aside from spending 2 nights there and losing all your money.

Have you've ever been to Summerlin and Henderson?

Wrong--Ive stayed at Green Valley Ranch .the M hotel and Red Rock Casinos out there. Beautiful places and in wealthy communities. Those resorts wouldn't be there if people didn't visit them. You're narrow minded comments show your ignorance.

By the way ,most of the strip casinos are technically located in unincorporated Clark County and not the city of Las Vegas

Agree to disagree.

Most people who go to Vegas are staying on the strip.

And it’s a dump.
