I will use Intermat team rankings in this since they have a Dual and tourney ranking lists. I will also use wrestlestat to look at head to head and common opponent past matchups.

Intermat's Dual team rankings has Wisconsin at #9 and RU at #19. For Tourney rankings they have Wisc at #19 and RU at #13, so you can see how different things get once you switch from dual scoring to Tournament scoring.

125- RU Shane Metzler vs #15 Connor Brown, Brown by dec, Wisconsin up 3-0
133- RU #3 Nick Suriano vs unranked Jens Lantz, Suriano by Tech Fall, RU up 5-3
141- RU Peter Lipari vs #16 (Flo) Tristan Moran, Moran by dec (don't think MVB wins either) Wisc up 6-5
149- RU #2 Anthony Ashnault vs #13 (Flo) Cole Martin, Ashnault by Tech Fall, RU up 10-6
157-RU #15 John Van Brill vs Zander Wick, JVB by dec, RU up 13-6
165-RU Stephen Glasgow vs #3 Evan Wick, Wick by Major Dec, RU up 13-10
174-RU Joe Grello vs #15 (Flo) Ryan Christensen, Christensen by dec , Match tied at 13
184-RU #12 Nick Gravina vs Mason Reinhardt, Gravina by dec, RU up 16-13
197-RU Matt Correnti vs Andrew Salemme, Correnti by Maj Dec, RU up 20-13
285-RU Chris Colucci vs #9 Trent Hilger, Hilger by Maj Dec, RU 20- 17

RUTGERS wins 20-17

Notes-
125- Metzlar should keep the loss to a dec against Brown, worst case scenario is Maj Dec
133- Suriano could win anywhere from Major , TF or PIN. At home, in a close match, he knows he needs to score as much as possible in this close team match, crowd will help.
141- I think Lipari gives RU a better shot at an upset than MVB does.
149- Ashnault wrestling like he's on a scoring mission, he either wins by Tech or Pin against a pretty good opponent.
157- Borderline toss up match, JVB with the much better resume, but lately not wrestling well, his freshman opponent could surprise, but doubt it, even a chance for bonus by JVB here.
165- Assuming Glasgow wrestles, he obviously is facing a tremendous opponent in #3 Wick, but Wick only winning by Dec or MD in the past month against decent to average opponents. RU cannot afford a Forfeit or Med Forfeit here in order to win the match, so I think Glasgow toughs it out, and limits the loss to a Maj Dec. Hopefully his knee improves .
174- First true toss up, although Wisc Christenson is ranked, he only beat Grello by 2-1 last season and that was at Wisc, and Grello is slowly improving now. I still give Christenson a small dec.
184- Gravina although ranked, is still just knocking the rust off, and never has been a big bonus machine, he should win a dec here, but I anticipate a close match. Critical for Gravina to win.
197- Correnti finally coming around w 6 straight wins, and could win this anywhere from Major to TF or even PIN.
285- Colucci gets to face another very good freshman heavyweight. Hilger not close to Stevenson, but still very good, Colucci should be able to lose no worse than Major or TF at worst, but Hilger is not a big scorer, so fairly confident Colucci loses by dec or Major Dec at worst.

In my opinion 157 and 174 are the biggest toss ups, I think we split them. Should be a very entertaining match.

Again I have RU winning 20-17

Hmm a closer look: Flo has Wisconsin’s 174 Christianson at #10..the way Grello been wrestling I put him as a much bigger underdog even tho he kept it close last year...

Also, at 197 Flo has Beau Breske listed for Wisconsin... he was a top top recruit coming out of HS.... Correnti will have his hands full..

Wisconsin is a much better dual team then I thought actually... they will be the fav.. we need to be clicking to beat them...

Breske has not wrestled in any duals yet, he may be sitting out the entire season since he transferred in from Nebraska, unless he had to only sit out til Jan 2019. PS- I don't see Breske ranked by Flo or intermat. Maybe I'm missing something. Also Breske is VERY undersized for 197,he's wrestled 174 the past 2 years at Nebraska.

I thought Grello had a very good 3rd period comeback against Minn against a pretty good opponent. Due to his improvement trend, wrestling at home, an wrestling this kid very close away last season, I'm only picking Christensen by a small margin, and would not be surprised at all with a Grello win.

Thanks for your post.

Christensen injured during Midlands and had to MF out against Scott. Curious if he is 100% but Grello is bigger underdog unless Ryan C. is not 100%. Hoping Grello puts it all together.

Correnti has 1 fall and the rest dec's so not sure he has a MD in him but I hope I'm wrong. Would like for him to put some more points on the board.

125, 141, 165 and 285 all need to be held to decisions. We have a chance if this happens.

Grello and Christiansen both beat Stefanik of Princeton by 2 points a few weeks ago, last year Christiansen squeaked by Grello 2-1. This will be another low scoring , close bout.

The Wisconsin 197, Andrew Salemme, is a true freshman getting pinned , Teched , or Majored by EVERYBODY. Corenti is STRONG.

If you have watched Wisconsin this year, they are a different team. Bono is doing a great job. He is fun to watch coach and their guys are hyped up. Hope Grello is healthy. If he is and fights, he can pull off a win. Don't expect it. Wick's brother is no slouch. So Van Brill will have a battle. But, JVB can win. Breske is very good. He should be eligible once their second semester begins. Not sure when that is. It could be the deciding match. We could get a close win or they could clobber us. We need a loud environment at the RAC to help pull off a Victory.

Beau Breske was very good in High School.....in College he has been mediocre at best. He just lost at Midlands 6-2 to Dinardo of Johnson and Wales, the same kid Max Wright beat 7-2.

Spring semester for U Wisconsin, Madison starts Jan. 22. I don't think Breske will be even wrestling. And if he does somehow, Correnti is an oversized 197 and Breske wrestled 174 the past 2 seasons, in other words, he's an undersized 197.
I think Correnti gets a Maj Dec at min, good chance for Tech Fall or Pin against the true freshman Salemme , who has been getting Pinned, Teched and Majored all season.

Wisconsin website lists Breske or Salemme as the starter at 197.

Then I guess he doesn't have to wait for 2nd semester to start, that said, I'm still confident an improved, big Matt Correnti will defeat an undersize Breski.
PS- In 2018 Breski finished the season with 9 consecutive losses. At 174, including losing to Joe Grello. His career record is 13-16, almost all at 174.

RU 20
Wisconsin 17

Correnti can definitely pulled this out - I am thinking a major decision.

If Glasgow does not wrestle we are looking at giving up 6 points here. This changes the dual meet with a 6 point swing.

According to Abro's prediction a major decision loss is 4 pts. so it would only be a 2 pt. swing with a pin. Anyway overall I think we lose a close one here, hope to see you all on Fri.. A packed RAC for wrestling is the best sporting environment on campus.

No, in the prediction, it has Glasgow only getting MAJORED (4 point)
That is where the 2 point swing is (A major instead of a default)
I think Wick will Pin or tech Fall Glasgow personally,.

Wick is not a prolific scorer, in his last 10 matches he only exceeded a Major Dec twice, w 1 Tech and 1 Fall, both against guys would probably aren't in anyone's top 100. Meanwhile Glasgow is 5-3 and has never been pinned or teched. And of the 3 losses only 1 was by Maj, the other 2 very close decisions.

Good try with your reading apprehension.
Obviously it’s more than yours, but no surprise. A 6pt swing would have Glasgow winning. Simple math.

I’d be willing to bet Wick gets bonus against Glasgow. I’ll pay $20 to SKWC if he doesn’t any takers? $20 to BRTC if he does get bonus.

Wisco when he said "This" to begin his next sentence he was alluding to the prior sentence which detailed "If Glasgow does not wrestle". I see how you interpret the swing statement but not his intention.

Hmm that is a tasty bet

Hope Abro knows more than Flowrestling as Flo predicts that Wisconsin will win by 7 points.
Abro are you predicting as a Rutgers fan or is you prediction truly a realistic

Wisconsin -7.5 @ Rutgers | LIVE ON FLO

It's a big week for both teams as Wisconsin will go on to face Penn State while Rutgers will then host Oklahoma State.

The Badgers are probably favored at more weights, but there is bonus potential for the Knights and a few key upset spots that could swing in their favor. At 141, Peter Lipari looked good at Midlands. I think he can go with Moran. The other swing match is at 157 with Zander Wick and JVB.

Finally, the picture at 184 and 197 are a little cloudy. Gravina and Reinhardt is certainly a good match up but it will hinge on how healthy Gravina is. Breske looked good in his Badger and 197 debut at Midlands but the sample size if very limited.

125: #16 Connor Brown (Wisconsin) vs. Shane Metzler (Rutgers)

133: Jens Lantz (Wisconsin) vs. #2 Nick Suriano (Rutgers)

141: #16 Tristan Moran (Wisconsin) vs. Peter Lipari (Rutgers)

149: #13 Cole Martin (Wisconsin) vs. #2 Anthony Ashnault (Rutgers)

157: Zander Wick (Wisconsin) vs. John Van Brill (Rutgers)

184: Mason Reinhardt (Wisconsin) vs. Nick Gravina (Rutgers)

197: Beau Breske (Wisconsin) vs. Matthew Correnti (Rutgers)

285: #9 Trent Hillger (Wisconsin) vs. Christian Colucci (Rutgers)

Good luck finding a sucker for that bet!! Don't think there's a Rutgers fan on here that doesn't see Wick/ Glasgow as being less than an 8pt match!!

Read my notes for each weight class, that's how I came up with the score. Now if Flo knows we are forfeiting 165, then they know more than some of our insider posters here, who I'm relying on thinking Glasgow will wrestle.
I truly don't think Glasgow does worse than a Major Dec loss, based on what I previously wrote. AND I think Correnti beats Breske, it not Major him, IF Breske even goes. Of course I'm a RU fan, but like to think I was objective in my write up w projections and prediction.

I nailed the score pretty close in the Minn match. Go back and look. The only match prediction I was way off this season was Utah Valley, as I didn't have time to do the research I've been doing the past few matches. I recently retired, so a lot more time now, lol.

Abro I think you were very objective. Only changes I would make would be Martin doesn't get teched. He is a very fundamental wrestler. Hillger by more than decision. Wick by more than major and I think Moran could do more. He is always looking for the pin watch for a cradle! I think you picked the matchups right just would change bonus a bit.
