OT - Game of Thrones Season 7 Thread

Question here is that why did Tyrion look upset, when Jon knocked on Dany's door to eventually knock her boots and knocker her up? Is he in love with Dany? Is Tyrion upset that he's not knocking some girls boots?

Both Tyrion and Jorah are in love with Dany.

A little foreshadowing;
Yes the bear was necessary to reinforce that another significant animal could be part of the Army of Dead.

Bron being able hit a dragon with a spear from the catapult - may be the person to take down the zombie dragon.

If I'm the Night King and it's been a thousand years since anyone has seen us, us I'd have an army of millions and millions animals as part of my army of the dead. Not just a couple horses, and a random bear.

Additionally the army of the dead "people" are called wights, which I assume is pronounced "whites" like lights or nights. The Night King is a White Walker but should they be Wight Walker? If makes more sense to me that way.

IMO, I think Jon and Dany banging jeopardizes their entire operation.

Jon to the northern Lords: "I, king of the north, have bent the knee to Dany. We need to all respect her as the true Queen. Also, I'm in love with her and having sex with her."

Northern Lords: "Um... what?"

There are three tiers, as I understand it.

1. Night King.
2. White Walkers. Created by the Night King, can rule other Wights. These are the dudes riding horses.
3. Wights. These are your misc. reanimated zombies. Footsoldier, thoughtless killers.

1 controls 2 who controls 3.

That wasn't my issue. My issue was tier 3 are wights, tier 2 are white walkers but I think they should be wight walkers, not white walkers. Because the wight walkers control the wights, i.e they make the wights walk. Wight and white should be pronounced the same like light and night so I think it makes more sense. But I didn't read the books so I have no idea.

In the books
Wights are the Zombies

There are no such thing as Whitewalkers or the Night King in the books.

There are something very similar called The Others who raise Wights, but they are a bit different from the TV show version. But as the TV show went along, they made them more and more like The Others.

The Night King is a TV show character who doesn't exist in the Books.

In the Books, there was a myth about a Night King, but that may or may not have happen and it was 1,000's of years ago. GRRM confirm that the TV show character is NOT the same person and they just reused the name.

I think it's simply that Tyrion is smart enough to know how things just got more complicated and that they likely won't get their happy ending together.

A theory I read but disagree with, is that Tyrion will somehow come around to Cersei. We never saw the end of the conversation from the two of them. Tyrion feeling guilt over his role in the kids' deaths, doesn't want to see the Lanister line come to an end. So he will screw Dany over in some way or abandon her and come to support Cersei and her baby. I don't buy that at all. But on another forum I read, I was surprised how much traction that idea was getting. Plus with Jamie riding north and bringing news that Cersei has no intention of aiding them, I'm sure Tyrion will trust his brother's words over Cersei.

Why no white walkerettes? Can women not fight and what about procreation? Seems kinda sexist and near-sighted of the night king. What about the sex of the dragons. Any chance to see some more eggs? Targarean power depends on the dragons.

In the Books, the original Night King married a female Other, she was the one who turned him, he was originally the leader of the Night Watch, he then started to call himself the Night King (get it?) and was basically a big jerk until he was killed. In the TV show they did away with all of that.

In the Books, Dragons use asexual reproduction.
Not sure about the TV show.

In real life, copperhead snakes can also do this when needed.

No dragon humping scenes then. How do you people retain that level of detail ? Thanks.

That microaggression and charge of sexism by the Kight King was dismissed with prejudice at Wight Court... or was that the Wight King at Night Court?

There was a white walkerette earlier in the season when one of the wildlings helping Bran was killed and turned into one. I don't remember her character's name.

Oh sorry. I thought the night king would only take Craster's sons and left the daughters. Perhaps he did that only due to Craster's request. Dam Craster.

I was on vacation, so I didn't participate after episode 7. I have to say, I liked it a lot. One of the better episodes this year I think. I still don't like the Little Finger ending, I would have liked some discussion about that means for his army, and who takes his position... I liked the ambiguity about what happened between Cersei and Tyrion

Pretty sure it was Night Court.

I think the Men of the Vale will appreciate Sansa's getting revenge for her Aunt, their "Lady of the Vale". I would imagine the Lord who turned down LF's request for escort home is in charge now and will act as Regent until the boy who likes to make people fly out the Moon Door comes of age. Boy won't that be fun for everyone in the Vale... maybe that kid has to fly. But I think they stay and fight the Undead Army.

I suppose Jamie-Arya-Bran is the next weirdly strange thing that I cannot wait to see what happens.

Jaime tried to kill Bran
Bran sees everything now
Jaimie is not on Arya's list.. but with a word from Bran he should be.. but perhaps Bran is above all that now and will see a use for Jaimie...
BTW.. why isn't Tyrion on Arya's list.. it was thought he paid an assassin to go kill Bran. I get it that Sansa informed Arya that Tyrion was good to her and that Bran revealed the dagger was LFs.. so Tyrion shouldn't be on the list NOW.. but he certainly should have made the list... hmm.. perhaps his alleged poisoning of Joffrey get him a reprieve.. and got Joffrey off her list.

I don't think that Bran is going to push to go after Jaime for what he did. As the Three Eyed Raven (to quote Sam "I don't know what that means.") he knows that the fight against the Dead is the most important thing now and I don't think he wants to settle old issues. Littlefinger was of no use to him in this fight as once the Knights of the Vale learned of his part in the deaths of Jon and Lyssa Aryn they would have no problem with his death. Jaime could be a key ally in this fight and since Bronn and Cersei don't get along I won't be surprised if he and some of the Lannister army decides to join him in the North. Bronn's loyalty is more to the Lannister brothers then to her. The army might see that Cersei bringing in the Golden Company as a threat to their place in the kingdom.
Should be really interesting to see how it plays out.

The Golden Company thing is a BIG CHANGE from the books. So I suppose it is not much of a spoiler to say what happens there.. but in the books, when Tyrion floats down the Rhoyne to go see Daneryus in Essos (he was guessing where she might be by the time he got there) he was with the benefactor of Dany and her brother Illyrio (friend of Varys).. with him is a mercenary and his "son".. the merc is Jon Conington (sp?) but his "son" is thought to be the real Aegon.. the other Aegon (not Jon Snow) who is going by "Young Griff".. his "father" being "Griff" for the purposes of incognito travel.

In any case.. their "mission" is to claim the Iron Throne for "Young Griff", who, like Jon Snow, is Dany's nephew and "rightful heir". The Mountain was said to have smashed the baby Aegon's head against the wall and then raped is mother (before crushing her head (all while he was 17 years old) during the end of Roberts Rebellion.. we heard that story in the TV show when he ended up crushing the Dorne guys head.. the reason behind that attack was to support the Lannisters who picked the winning side fairly late in that war.. and by eliminating possibly future claimant, they did their "part" to prove their loyalty to Robert... which is why Ned and Robert had a falling out.. that and finding out the whole Roberts Rebellion thing was base don a lie.

So.. in the book.. the latest completed book.. not the coming Winds of Winter.. the Golden Company had already arrived and they were busy taking the Stormlands (which the Lanisters were holding, iirc).

So if the Golden Company shows up working for Cersei.. well.. big change. Will be interesting to see how that goes.

I think the Knights of the Vale will stay due to Sansa avenging the death of John Arryn, who was murdered by the lady of the Vale with little finger's help.

It's pretty clear the books are building Euron to be the big bad/night king type character.

So HBO made it official today - the 6 episode final season will not air until 2019.

IMO this is extremely lame. The idea of a series, particularly one with a central, fundamental plot, is to maintain continuity to keep the viewers engaged. A year and a half from now there will be a lot of viewers who just won't care.

I agree. It’s totally ridiculous. On top of only doing 6 episodes wtf

I’m not ecstatic about it but I’ll live. I’d bet in the next 1.5 years they pick up more fans than they lose. I’d imagine hbo will play it non stop

Season 5 Sopranos ended June 2004.... Season 6 (part 2) didn't start until April 2007...... everyone waited..

people will still care and will still watch.........

long time? sure....... but HBO is expert in dragging it out..........

Disappointing news, especially since primary filming started in Oct. But these "episodes" are like filming short movies, so they are intense.

My opinion is that the final season will be a lot of "jumping the shark" scenarios. They will come up with the most over the top crap just for shock value. I saw some of it in the past season.

While you are waiting on GOT check out this Danish miniseries with Euron Greyjoy (he is on the horse) and the one actress in Westworld.

Was that during the writers strike? Nothing was getting made then.
