We have a kid that jump out of the gym , has million view you tube dunk videos, can get on sports center , maybe create some hype, grab a new young fan or two. Let's sit him for the dunk contest and give others a chance. Rutgers gonna Rutgers.
Who cares why is it such a big deal?
It's not a big deal but example of the program making a very poor decision. They sent out tweets he was in it, maybe was posted here as well. I had two young boys with me, it's who they came to see.
PISCATAWAY - The Rutgers men's and women's basketball programs hosted MidKnight Madness Friday evening at the RAC to celebrate the official start of practice "On the Banks." WFAN sports radio personality Jerry Recco hosted the event, which included player introductions, scrimmage, three-point shooting competition and a men's slam dunk contest.

Agree with this. The whole point of a Midnight Madness is to get some momentum for the upcoming season from the fans. It Doesn't make sense to keep your best player out and I only hope there is nothing more to this other than a minor ailment or a bad decision to keep him out.
Player decision to do so, not the program.....this is moving in the direction of a program, not specifically to be the appearance of a one player show....players also practice before these events and perhaps it wasn't in him to dunk etc...
The program is moving in the right direction with a goal as one unit....could not be more confident about any one thing as a whole, as I do this program right now.
Was there last night with my wife and youngest son. Great time,shooting will still be an issue,I believe. Overall, the team is very athletic,and quick. Hoping for an NIT invite. Am I the only one who cringes during the Slam Dunk Contest? I always feel someone will get a season ending injury doing this stuff, trying too hard to impress the crowd, and doing something out of the ordinary.
I thought it was good that Corey did not participate in the dunk contest. We all know what he can do and how athletic he can be on dunks. I think he realizes that this team in order to reach their full potential must have contributions from everyone. Everyone seemed very happy and the crowd was into it. The entire lower level was filled and some were upstairs too. At first I thought it would be a small crowd but when it started it was rocking.
