Are they going to do anything special to commemorate this game this season?

Why? Rutgers still havent taken advantage of that game on the field.

This again? I swear we had a similar absurd thread a few weeks ago.

It's a regular-season win. A great game, a great memory. It meant NOTHING.

You commemorate conference champions. You honor record-setting performances. You don't make a big fuss over a nice regular-season win that meant nothing.

NOTHING.

Dude, come on.

You had the prefect opportunity here...

If you think that game meant nothing then you have no idea or are new around here ... it may not have made the difference in that season's outcome (in terms of BCS/conf champ) BUT that night meant a whoooooole lot to the program and university as a whole.. the momentum, the national spotlight, that was when we truly crossed the gates into general relevancy from Patriot league FCS-level on-field product.

Unfortunately that was the apex of Rutgers football on n the national stage. Nothing has come close including the V'ille game for the BCS game.

That was my last physical. Maybe I'll get another

I'm sure that I've seen it on BTN but with the season already in gear programming time is hard to come by for something like this. I've watched it on You Tube a few times. Great every time

I don't believe in honoring that game's anniversary but people are being ridiculous if they think the game meant nothing. For most of the college football world, it was the first time they saw Rutgers football in a positive light.

It's a shame the program couldn't build on it, but that win help usher in the modern era of the program -- the first true big-time football win imo. There were wins against bigger programs, but NEVER a win in such a setting -- two ranked teams, playing at home, playing on national tv, WFAN broadcasting before the game, a packed house.

Obviously people remember winning seasons and championships, but if you look back at a game (and a night) like that and say it meant nothing... damn... that's kind of sad.

I don't think anyone thinks it meant nothing but more against the OP suggestion to "honor" the game. Big difference between the two.

Was the following week a Thursday night game vs USF?

The following week was a let down against Cincinnati. The excuse was that the team had a stomach bug.

Still even after that we could have won the conference by beating WVU, which almost happened.

The two games we lost that year were Cinci and WVU.

The CInci game was similar to the Pitt game in 2012. A weaker team that we laid an egg against with an out right win of the conference title and BCS berth on the line. It sucks.
