I hope Pike is not planning to take him to the football game. Extend the basketball tailgate a bit and then have a conflicting activity starting around 1pm.

So how would it make up for the loss of Massoud? I don't understand that line of thinking, but I'm open-minded

Russ...we are in need of talent...and this is both the same spot on the floor..albeit a class apart

I’m pretty sure that three of the next four ships we have (one class of 19 and three for class of 29) are for the four and five spot...so it’s an equal exchange in my book.

It’s getting a very talented kid in the place of a very talentta kid. Yes it’s a year later but so what...not rocket science.

A recruit in 2020 is not a replacement for a recruit lost in 2019. Whoever signs in 2019 as the 2nd recruit is the replacement for not getting Mossoud.

The 2020 recruit is for that year, unless you think Pikiell will carry over that 2019 spot..and that's not gonna happen.

You cant take him to the football game unfortunately.

Saturday. 9AM eat breakfast
10AM lift
1145 basketball practice
230pm trip to Jersey shore

I realize that given the way the RU football season is going, some of you are worried about the basketball staff taking recruits to football games.

In my experience, down here in SEC country, most basketball recruits do not stay for the entire game. They go early during warm-ups so they can go down on the field and be photographed there, then usually sit with other recruits and current roster players for a while, soak up the atmosphere, check out some girls then bounce. Many of Florida's recruits don't even make it to half-time.

And there are some basketball recruits that don't go to the game at all. They've straight up told me that they don't care about the football game. They want to see the basketball facilities, where the players live and spend as much time with the coaches as they can.

Plus give the RU basketball staff credit. They know the football team is struggling so I'm sure they'll plan around that.

You've asked the questions …. now spill the beans!~

I'm not sure what I was being asked for my
thoughts on or what I was hearing anything about.

I wasn't trying to be evasive. I just needed some clarification so I can answer the question.

How good do you think he is? Any idea of the extent of his interest in Rutgers?

I saw two of his game videos from the adidas Gauntlet, because I didn't watch many 16U games when I was at the Gauntlet stop in Atlanta back in April. I liked what I saw. In half court offense Cottrell scores mainly around the basket on post ups and non post ups (put backs, cuts, etc). I like that he is comfortable finishing with either hand around the basket at his age. Cottrell does have a little bit of a face up game, but needs to become more consistent and comfortable with that skill.

I do not know how interested he is in Rutgers. His is not a recruitment I'm following closely.
